The first time I heard Sleigh Bells , I thought something was wrong with my speakers, but after some trouble shooting it was apparent that their music was intended to sound like you are standing right in front the speakers at a concert. The duo consisting of Derek Miller, former guitar player from Florida's hardcore, 'Poison The Well', and Alexis Krauss are certainly thinking outside of the box with their approach. I wouldn't say i'm a super-fan of their previous albums, but always enjoyed them if the mood was right; that said, this sounds great...something i could (and will) listen to on repeat quite often. Can't wait for the new album to come out (jan. 26th). Pretty Much Amazing described this Sleigh Bells' song as a mix between Beyonce's "Upgrade You" and Wavves "So Bored". That's all it took to get me interested. Turns out he was right on with that. This is extremely loud, hard hitting music, but it's also pop. The results are fantastic, but I wouldn't mind reducing the Wavves element a little. All you lo-fi heads who thinks anything is better with a little fuzz and a little (too much) distortion will get a kick out of this. This is extremely loud, hard hitting music, but it's also pop. The results are fantastic, but I wouldn't mind reducing the Wavves element a little. All you lo-fi heads who thinks anything is better with a little fuzz and a little (too much) distortion will get a kick out of this.
