While the upcoming joint tour between Sleigh Bells and AraabMuzik has already encountered minor delays courtesy of a bad ollie , the producer used his newfound downtime to remix the Bells' "Never Say Die" (off February's Reign of Terror ). Keeping the dreamy metal guitar intact, Mr. Muzik heaps on layers of his rapidfire MPC drum beats for a distinctly mainstream rap sheen. Download it below. To kick off the touring festivities, AraabMuzik has taken to Sleigh Bells ' raucous banger, "Never Say Die". Yeah, a collaboration like this, even though it is post production, is something to certainly get excited about. I don't mean to burst anyone's bubble here, though, but I was kind of hoping for something a bit more expansive from such a headline. The button pressing wizard definitely went in on this track, but a lot of his drum kits are starting to sound stale and recycled. Do you think AraabMuzik should start changing up his sound, [...]

Oh, ok!

It just makes sense that Sleigh Bells and AraabMuzik are spending their autumns touring together. Both of them bring to live some combination of pop, dance, and horrible, scraping noise. And both have sweaty, intense, physical live shows. And for some sense of the epic heaviness these shows might bring, here we have Araab chopping up Sleigh Bells' "Never Say Die" and turning it into something even denser and sharper. Download it and check out the tour's dates below. Read More...

Thank you Digital Screen of Cheerfulness! I survived and thrived during Days 1 and 2 in the marathon known as Flanders' Belgium's totally rocktacular music festival. Day 3 of Pukkelpop was ahead of me, and I melted within 30 seconds of gaining consciousness. It was HOT in Kiewit. I mean, seriously, HADES + MERCURY hot. But the Digital Screen of Cheerfulness had our backs. Pukkelpop, able to go with the flow of drenching sweat down our cleavages, adjusted its water prices. [...]

We've seen Victoria's Secret use M832s " Midnight City " and Rhye's " Open ," for their last couple commercials, and they keep it moving by letting Sleigh Bells ' "Crush" be the soundtrack to their latest ad. Beautiful, as always.

If any indie release of the last year was primed for a rap remix, it was Sleigh Bells ' "Demons." With blaring drums, explosive guitar riffs, and fervent hollering throughout, it would take a powerful emcee to match the feverish intensity of the original track. Well, we think we've finally found a good candidate on our hands in Toronto's own, iSH . Opting to go with the slightly more subtle Diplo remix of the song, iSH and Philly's e-dubble manage to complete the tough task of absolutely tearing this beat to shreds. Plus, any time you [...]
While you were flipping burgers and soaking up some of those lingering summer rays over Labor Day weekend (or were you braving the masses at Jay Z's Made in America festival?), Dave P of Making Time RADio went out to the west coast for FYF Fest. While they are in the country for the annual Big Day Out Festival , Derek Miller and Alexis Krauss, who are known to the majority of people as the New York duo SLEIGH BELLS , have kindly decided to play a couple of sideshows for us in Sydney and Melbourne. It’s hard to believe that just over four years ago, the two met in a park and were listening to Miller’s demos. These days you will find them at some of the world’s biggest festivals, performing what is known to some people [...]

Thanks to a totally un-tubular skateboarding accident, Sleigh Bells have canceled their appearances at the Pygmalion and MidPoint festivals and postponed several club shows. "I fractured the radial bone in my right arm at a skate park in Tequesta, FL", guitarist Derek Miller tweeted . "My arm is healing well but we gotta play it safe so I don't fuck it up some more." According to an issued statement, the band hopes to announce new shows in Champaign-Urbana and Cincinnati in the near future. Check out the band's updated itinerary below, [...]

Words by Jacob I have failed you, readers. I, your soundtracking guide through the seasons, dropped the ball on summer '12. Sure, I submitted an Independence Day column, both to help you host the world's most uncomfortable cookout and to support the eternal re-election of President Bill Pullman, but I skipped an actual summer edition, and for this I apologize. But now summer is at an end, and back to work we must go. Unless you have a real job, in which case [...]
