Slutever // "Pussy Cat" (If you guys only knew how long I've been waiting for these girls to release this track.) A few weeks ago I ran an interview on PORTALS that I did with Nicole Snyder of Slutever and her new label Mallrat Records . Well today in honor of 4/20, her bandmate Rachel Gagliardi is launching her own label as well: Bratty Records . I'm so excited I don't even know what [...]

Slutever 's Rachel Gagliardi just announced the launch of her very own label Bratty Records - "channeling josie mccoy and the year 1994, bratty aims to release music with a serious dose of teenage angst." Below is a 420-friendly music video for Bratty's first single release called "Pussycat" from her band Slutever. It will be available on cassingle soon, but you can instantly download the track HERE . The video was shot and edited by Eddie Austin.

Islands FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 24 Islands fans were shown some love on Valentine's Day with the release of the Canadian indie-rock band's latest full-length album, A Sleep & A Forgetting . Yet blissful romance is hardly the album's focal point: it was written following the end of frontman Nick Thorburn's thorny relationship. One of the album's earlier tracks, "This Is Not A Song," is a somber telling of the past, and is indicative of most of the album's tone. Not much has changed, however; we're still [...]
Whilst watching this please show tolerance and respect to Neon Music and resist the urge to jump through the screen and stab him multiple times because Blood Orange is awesome and this documentary is very nonformative and if you can get past the horrendousness of Neon Music's interview technique, yes we know its a parody, and Slutevers inane slobbering it's worth a watch but that doesn't make it cool or clever or funny. Great music as always from Blood Orange but Basquiat already happened yeah?

SLUTEVER // "ROOKIE" I have been away from these girls for far too long. Last thing I've heard from them was the gnarly Wanda Jackson cover that they did for my Tears On My Pillow: Part II . Man, does that seem like it was forever ago! Well anyways, I've been reunited with SLUTEVER (albeit too briefly) with their newest track "ROOKIE" a theme song of sorts that they wrote for Rookie Mag . While I'm not exactly familiar with [...]

Blood Orange (not pictured, he's a dude not Slutever ) is about to start his European tour and we thought we'd just splash up a little reminder of how good he is to get ya in the mood. Bad Girls by Blood Orange

Claire James Claire, Camille Benett, and Ben Rayner are Throwing Up . The East London punkers have a new 73 entitled Mother Knows Best which is set to be released on November 29th via the What's Your Rupture label (cough, cough Iceage ). This here is the B-Side. Listen. Downloadable: MEDICINE (mp3) Here is the 73 cover art (which makes us think of Sorry I'm not Sorry by Slutever for some reason). [...]

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 14 Deer Tick takes all the right steps to stay disheveled yet oddly dapper. Though members of the Providence-based group typically come equipped with the standard beards and other facial hair common for their country-tinged folk genre, they still manage to channel a retro, Don Draper-esque appreciation for suit jackets and nice shades. This same balance between shabby and chic resonates in the group's relentlessly heavy emphasis on guitar-driven rock, songs often wavering between thick, overwhelming chord progressions and delicate, almost dainty, riffs. The opening track of the group's latest album, [...]

Slutever are back from doing America, and they'll be headlining at Johnny Brenda's tonight. While some may have been following their adventures in 140 characters or less, you should really come hear for yourself what performing almost every night can do for their chops. Hopefully they'll have a chance to rest up before belting out favorites like "So Prone" and "No Offense," but I'm sure that once they see some friendly familiar faces in the crowd, it will give them that much-needed boost of energy. They'll be joined by Bedroom Problems , the fleshed out basement (bedroom) project [...]

Time for a little bit of aural time travel. Let's look back, reflect, and contemplate... what were we listening to one year ago? Listen to the August 2010 Mix and find out. Photo by Lamar George We get it: All-female punk bands from the riot-grrrl era will forever own the genre, and anything that comes after will be a mere shadow of Bikini Kill and Bratmobile. No one's going to argue that Kathleen Hanna is a damn hard frontwoman to best. (Anyone who would say differently should probably check out the Le Tigre tour documentary Who Took the Bomp? LE TIGRE on Tour , which was recently released on DVD.) But wouldn't it have been incredibly sad if those angry, we're-not-taking-your-crap feminist punk genes had died [...]

Photo by Candice Martello Kickstarter campaigns can be a wonderful means of fundraising, especially when your target donor audience is on the functioning half of the digital divide. In preparation for their first coast-to-coast U.S. tour, the punk duo Slutever has just launched a Kickstarter campaign in the hopes of raising a minimum of $2,000 to help them fund their venture. Unlike other bands that would promise to reward donors with the standard t-shirt or record, Slutever offers an extensive and creative variety of gifts for pretty much every donation level [...]

Ahoy, The city of brotherly love has some sisters to contend with! Duo, Slutever , recently released, Pretend To Be Nice , via Bantic Media ... we are never on schedule with these things, but always on time. I promised myself I wouldn't say something that rhymes with so fly(if i see or hear another xo-xi description I will scarf tacks haha) to describe these cats. so I will just say... es bueno. This Ep is grrrl goodness check it out foyoself! Slutever - No Offense [...]
Philadelphia duo Nicole and Rachel make up SLUTEVER. The friends were brought together through a shared love of grunge and '50s girl groups. To date they have already shared the bill with the likes Best Coast, Cults and The Coathangers whilst releasing two EPs; Sorry I'm Not Sorry and the recent Pretend To Be Nice. Their [...]

The local punk band Slutever is many things: For starters, it's an all-female duo that writes riff-heavy rock more powerful than most four- or five-piece acts. It's also one of The Key's favorite bands in Philadelphia (which is why we brought them into the XPN studio for a recent Key Studio Session ). But one thing Slutever clearly is not is a band for children. So, when guitarist/drummer Rachel Gagliardi—a student in Drexel University's Music Industry Program—decided to make her senior project a children's-music-oriented endeavor, her side project The Weenies was born. Saturday [...]

Slutever are a girl guitar and drum duo made up of Drexel students. The Philadelphia via Bucks County group take garage-rock and punk to a progressive level. The pair's music
