Rock bands with mixtapes: It's almost too perfect of an idea, like rock bands with hypemen, and it's amazing that it doesn't happen more often. Actually, it pretty much never happens. Fthrsn - Hysteria The languid, heavy pop music of Fthrsn ('Father Son') has been a regular fixture on the TMW playlist of late; title song 'Hysteria' in particular, feels like one I've know my entire life (in a good way). Beats are steady and the melody gauzed and dulled very slightly, the rigid shoegaze fuzz which characterises much of Fthrsn's sound warranting foremost comparisons to Small Black .
