Lily Allen- I Could Say (Link 2) Lily Allen- Back To The Start (Link 2) It was always going to be a fantastic album. The early demos were fully formed, we were kept in the loop throughout the recording process and the artist was experimenting. 'It's Not Me, It's You', Lily Allen's second album, is a triumph. The album somehow manages to stay grounded whilst Lily tests the water (and her comfort zone) before- presumably- dropping her definitive album number 3. This is the sound of [...]

έως OMD , και από KB έως raining pleasure . Ωραία περάσαμε εν ολίγοις, πάντα τέτοια.. [...]
Love (<) Boris - Smile (there are 2 versions, I've got the Diwphalanx version) Certainly it could be said that I was not expecting this when I first popped it in. I wouldn't exactly say it's Post Metal, but it certainly fits a little bit in the "Post" something area. Hell it's slower and more ambient than Doom metal at times. If anything I'd say they fit more in Drone Metal than anything. There must be something in the water over there [...]
Maybe this is funny because it's really late and I can't sleep and I'm tried. But I don't think so. It's just funny. Is. IS. IS!

Photo by Blind Pilot Music I went through a really long musical drought. Nothing sounded good. I made a brief detour at Pandora and left unhappy: my digital radio station didn't introduce me to anything I liked and repeated the songs I didn't like too often. Honestly I love listening to complete albums. Pandora doesn't suit me. I don't like the next song I hear being selected by a computer program. It's too cold, too calculated. I would rather listen to a podcast that someone has curated with songs he or she has heard [...]
Who doesn't love Sarah Palin impersonations, midgets, and Dolly Parton? Honestly, that video is so freaking amazing. I hope Chloe and Keith get enough page views to buy something nice.
Art by Matt Dorfman You know I love Dolly . And Dolly Parton is everywhere right now. Yesterday, NPR posted a great article about Dolly Parton's song, Jolene, detailing the origin and history of the song. Parton says that she got the story for her song from another redhead in her life at the time — a bank teller who was giving Parton's new husband a little more interest than he had coming. From Jolene : [...]

I'll Try Being Happier If You Try Being Smarter , 2008, Digital art as giclee print, 203x303. Limited to a single print. The title of this piece is inspired by something that my buddy CK1M often says. Other inspirations include comic art, tattoos and emo kids. Those are probably more apparent, though. Can you believe this? Yeah. Me either.
The NYTimes covered this video last week in the article " A Private Dance? Four Million Web Fans Say No ." Matt Harding traveled the world and video himself dancing a goofy little dance. It's a really heartwarming video and it reminds me a lot of Davey's Dance Blog .
The Danes in Alphabeat were totally our heart w hen we last talked about them (funny enough, it was about a video) and now the sextet are just going ahead and officially sealing the deal. According to the band, "[t]he video is an ode to all things eighties: cassettes, ghetto blasters and leg warmers," and they couldn't be more right about that. The choreography may be a bit much (for us, at least) but they're totally all smiles in the clip and so are we. (mp3) Alphabeat - [...]
Lily Allen- Who'd Of Known (Link 2) (Link 3) 'Smile' was the song that alerted us all to Lily Allen's presence. At first a sickly sweet relationship tale, it morphed over a summer of domination into the song that we all loved to hate, as most radio friendly single's do. Next came 'LDN', which also metamorphosed, but not to such an extent. And finally: 'Alright, Still' a great debut album, full of wit, energy and originality. It is, however, an impressive debut album which is about to be eclipsed by her follow [...]
• The first official review of Futurama: The Beast With A Billion Backs has been published, and it looks very positive. According to the article, it's a much more adult-themed movie, but it will not be in the vein of Family Guy or South Park. The one problem I have with this review is that it hailed Bender's Big Score a success, when I found it to be sub-par. The story was fine, but it felt like they were trying too hard to impress devout Futurama fans. That's not unusual with television programs [...]

It's official - the CD is dead. We surely aren't the only ones who have hooked up some decent speakers to our computer to turn it into an all-inclusive mp3 jukebox. The advantages are obvious. There's none of the hassle of flicking through spines of plastic cases, no scratched discs to worry about, no need to spend hours on manual alphabetisation. All it takes is a click of the mouse and Dylan, Bob is your UNKLE. Nevertheless last weekend, while [...]
Snyder and the Clash Tom Snyder , the strange TV and radio talk show host whose Tomorrow hosted many extraordinary musical moments (eg, John Lennon's last interview, KISS's breakup announcement), died Sunday of leukemia at 71. Besides being known for his steel gray hair and angry eyebrows, he is perhaps also notable for being pushed aside by his network to make room for the launches of both David Letterman's and Oprah Winfrey's careers. Stereogum has collected several more videos, including U2's first appearance on [...]

It's hard not to love Lily Allen. Not only is she an adorably cheeky Brit who worked herself to fame all by herself, but she''s also highly involved with her fans. She asks them to do remixes of her songs, she corresponds with them on her myspace, and now, she's doing videos involving their favorite videos games; The Sims. That's right, Lily Allen has joined the ranks of prestigious artists such as the Black Eyed Peas and the Pussycat Dolls (err, scratch that) by recording a song entirely in Simlish. For those of you out of the know, Simlish [...]
