It's always a treat when players meet - such was the case on a grey winter day when I had the opportunity to step into the creative spaces of THEMpeople . A collective of dope ass musicians based in Chicago, IL, these guys were churning out very eclectic ambient sounding hip-hop styles before they were able to truly cut into the fabric of the new Chicago uprising of talent. As we anxiously await the release of  Lapalux 's full-length debut, the British producer has shared an alternate version of a track that will land on  Nostalchic . If the album version of "Swallowing Smoke" is anything like this haze-covered romp, we are in for a seriously blunted treat. According to his quick Q&A with  Dazed Digital , the song was inspired by watching his friend take hits from a bong and, you know, swallow the smoke. Also, "Swallowing Smoke" is made up of a whopping 60 (!) tracks. Damn!
