Rhode Island's AraabMuzik, aka Abraham Orellana, likes to think of himself as some sort of sage. Continuing the instructive theme of 20102s collaboration with J. Armz, How to Be an MC , is this year's Instrumental University. In case anyone forgets exactly who is schooling them, Orellana generously drops his signature "You are now listening to AraabMuzik..." Sensuous as that voice is, it comes across as obnoxiously territorial sometimes, especially with all the screams. Admittedly, inflated egos in the hip hop world are as ubiquitous as sampling, and AraabMuzik is a talented enough producer to boast a bit. Instrumental University [...]

In the name of intensity and irony, we bring to you a classic 802s track by classic cheese ballers Snap! given an electro make over by No Body . No Body was formed in November 2010, after members Ruben and Kevin successfully collaborated to create their first original tracks (Don't Go, Two, We Speak American) This track packs a lot of punch and has a heap of drum variation! New joint from Rico Tubbs. You know how much I love Rico Tubbs.
Japanese anime shows, Black Lagoon and Cowboy Bebop inspired visuals made this one of the more unique works of the year. Jhene Aiko - Snapped Synchronized roller skate-dancing visuals at Venice Beach made this groovy tune worth noting. Princeton - To the Alps Director - Sean Barret Marina Diamindis went all EDM (Electronic Dance Music) on us and gave us some [...]

Son Raw needs a dope DJ crew name. Suggestions? Don't worry: this isn't Footwoork mixed with dodgy Dubstep sounds...it's just Footwork. While I'm not entirely sold on the iconography, Paris producer Leatherface's take on the once-emerging-now-red-hot Footwork sound is proof that the subgenre is mutating and developing just as fast outside of Chicago as in its native environment. Snap's "You got the Power?" Check. Legend of Zelda theme? Check. Free downloads? Get em' while you can. Download: Snap - The Power (Leatherface [...]
Jhene Aiko Jhene Aiko is using the Japanese anime shows, "Black Lagoon" and "Cowboy Bebop" as the leading visuals for her new single "Snapped" from the soon to be released Soul(ed) Out project. We enjoyed a few cuts from the last mixtape and this cut will further build the buzz that should have major labels drooling soon. Another artist you can expect a big 2012 from, enjoy the video above.
New visual from Jhene Aiko , 'Soul(ed) Out' coming soon.

Ever since I blogged about Uzbeks two weeks ago, I've been listening to their LP Goggles & Flipflops pretty much nonstop. Because of that, I'm pleased to announce that the Israeli punk group has a fresh new song out, a sub-2 minute banger called "Black Magic!" This track is in a similar vein as the full length album, with a sloppy, fast-paced punk sound that skirts the line between hardcore and classic 70s punk. Check out those vocal harmonies! "Black Magic!" will appear on an upcoming 4-track EP called Snaps , which will be released [...]
