It's hard to say, but it was the band's first visit to the City--and it was ages ago. They've had some pretty big gigs since then (I remember when they opened for Kings of Leon a few years later). Tonight, they headline a show at the Mercury Lounge. [...]
Atlanta based and internationally known, Le Castle Vania , commonly known as Dylan Eiland, quickly escaped the local trappings of his hometown in Georgia to play music around the world. Atlanta's burgeoning music scene allowed him to develop his passion for music and nightlife, and he soon gained notoriety with his riotous DJ sets and penchant for production, which made him a household name in the dirty and distorted, indie-electro scene. But what exactly is different about him? Besides his hair being a little bright to go along with his awesome video-game like appearance, he founded Always Never [...]

About this time last year Atlanta band Snowden released a free 5-track EP called 'Slow Soft Syrup' which was to act as a bridge while the follow up to their 2006 (I know, 5 flippin' years) debut 'Anti-Anti' was put to bed. Still no sign of the mooted LP however but given the strength of the taster EP it should be well worth waiting for. The freebie opened in atmospheric fashion with 'No One In Control' spilling the beans over 7 coolly dispatched minutes. There is no startling departures from what is revealed in the opening 60 seconds but Snowden [...]

THIS WEEK'S BEST BET: Titus Andronicus w/ Free Energy, Turf War Monday, September 19 The Earl - 488 Flat Shoals Avenue in Atlanta, GA 30316 Admission is $10 ADV / $12 DOS / Purchase Tickets The restless urgency of Titus Andronicus' music and the sprawling anthems it produces have made for some of the rowdiest, most gloriously uproarious noise to be committed to wax in recent years. Despite their cynical and paranoid "us against them" themes, the mood always feels celebratory—a [...]

Catchy-as-fuck-yet-icy-and-aff ected indie rock Atlanta outfit Snowden have been in and out of the public's consciousness since a few years ago, bursting at the seams early and sort of fizzling into the background shortly thereafter, but they'd done some tremendous things in that short span, so with news that there's a new EP, Slow Soft Syrup, [...]
![[Listen] – #MusicMonday – 20 Songs Of The Week – June 7th](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/2600948_lg.jpg)
If you're unaware of what Music Monday is, it's a Twitter recommendation system where users of Twitter share their favourite music, artists, genres, etc in order to not only find new music themselves but help others find new music too. Using the hashtag (#) followed by "MusicMonday" you can easily find new music posted by the thousands of people making recommendations each week. Every #MusicMonday I upload a playlist of 20 songs that I've been listening to (new and old) over the [...]

This is by no means new, having been released almost three months ago but I'm just getting into the band I thought it fitting to share my discovery with all six of you. Not to be confused with the Welsh mountain (spelled Snowdon), Snowden are named after Catch-22 character Howard Snowden and comprised of Jordan Jeffares, Chandler Rentz, Corinne Lee, and David Payne, from Brooklyn and Atlanta. They're working on their second album, the follow-up to 2006's "Anti-Anti" and have released "Slow Soft Syrup" as a teaser for that album. They're having trouble getting money to record the album though so if you can help [...]

They say time flies when you're having fun, I guess that why it wasn't till last week that I realized it's been a whole year since Steph started the Le Miel du Mois series, wow. We're getting a lot of new visitors lately so if you're new to EMPT I recommend you to to the LMDM page and start right back at the very first installment of this series and work your way up to this months. Every tape has stands on it's own and till this day I've never been able to pick a favorite and this month is [...]

Treasure Fingers released a brand new track last week. School prevented me from finding it earlier but it's blindingly good! Very reminiscent of the good ol' days when we used to hear a lot from Treasure Fingers. So because I missed this by so much you can find a variety of excellent remixes below to assist in celebrating the new! Welcome back TF! What Am I Supposed To Do , will be included on a debut compilation LP of Treasure Fingers' work called Life Of The Afterparty , out this summer on Fool's Gold [...]

New Tales To Tell, A Tribute To Love And Rockets was just named "Editor's Pick" at Amazon.com for the month of April. This means if you have yet to pick up the quintessential tribute to the band, you can download it digitally for the low price of $5. This compilation was lovingly produced by SiriusXM Radio DJ, Christopher The Minister , a longtime fan and former A&R rep for the band. Christopher gathered fellow fans of the band that ranged from Tool / Pucifer's Maynard James Keenan , [...]
