So you guys probably remember either going or seeing us talk about Snow Globe Music Festival , the very cool new festival that we sponsored that took part in Lake Tahoe, CA on New Year's weekend. The festival featured a huge stack of artists from Pretty Lights and Bassnectar to Childish Gambino and Theolphilus London. It was from the same people who brought you the other winter festival Snow Ball in Vail, and they know how to create a really great party. With the rise in popularity of electronic music, you see a lot more DJ's and electronic acts filling [...]
The warmth is back but no sun. The day is cloudy, a leftover from last night's rain. The breeze is slight and the tops of the pine trees sway just a bit. Yesterday I didn't leave the house. I cleaned this room. It took a long while as the room is filled with hats, snow globes, books and old toys. Gumby and Pokey were especially dusty as were the B-movie people and the wind-up toys. I felt accomplished when I was finished. These spurts of energy are sporadic. For that I am thankful. I hate wasting my time [...]

Brian Lindgren, insomniac, Star Trek fan and sample connoisseur, has a knack for creating savory beats and we were fortunate enough to sit down with the brains behind the outfit, Mux Mool . Residing in Brooklyn with a collection of records, loops and keyboards, Mux Mool is set to release his newest full-length Planet High School on February 7 th with Ghostly International. From talk on the LP's foundation to New Year's resolutions, Lindgren spoke his mind as he racked up a Hamilton on the penny slots before his performance at SnowGlobe 2011. This is what [...]
Ideally, the final night of any year should be the grandest. There should be fireworks, regretful decisions, slurring of words and good music - compiling into a splotchy memory of a night that will set the tone for the upcoming 365 days. The speakers should be set to 11, and our eardrums must receive a solid pounding. At the end of it all, as the clock strikes twelve, a feeling of joy should overwhelm all of us. Unfortunately this time around, the world is most likely to explode at that moment - but this doesn't mean our inevitable demise should [...]

Initial headliners have been announced for SnowGlobe Music Festival in Lake Tahoe for NYE....
Tidelands' debut album, If…, is a beautiful indie force to be reckoned with, hypnotic in its musicality.

"It's not who you are, it's who you know." – a phrase that might at first seem appropriate to Jesca Hoop 's slow rise to relative prominence. Originally a nanny to Tom Wait's children and then championed by our very own champion, Guy Garvey, it wouldn't be overly cynical to say that Hoop has been given a helping hand to get her where she sits today. At the same time, it's "who you are" that first gets you noticed by "who you know" and if Hoop's smoky vocal tendrils hadn't ensnared Garvey, then there would have been countless others [...]
New music from the über -eclectic Jesca Hoop is always cause for celebration 'round these parts and her new "City Bird", taken from her forthcoming six-track "tour" EP Snowglobe (April 4), is no exception. Simply produced, with sharp focus on plucked acoustic guitar and Hoop's naked voice, the song's melody flits about with unpredictable abandon as the mood is engulfed in a gypsy- ish [...]
