German band The Sodastream (not to be confused with the Australian Sodastream) have released a free digital download album. It's the follow up to 2005's All The Things You Are and is simply titled RMX with eleven electronic versions of their previous work. Ein vorösterliches Weihnachtsgeschenk hat uns die Hamburger Indieband The Soda Stream beschert - anlässlich ihres 10jährigen Bandjubiläums haben sie einige ihrer Songs (vor allem von ihrem letzten Album) von einer Reihe Remixern neu abmischen lassen, und herausgekommen sind 11 neue Versionen, teils radikal verändert. The duo of Karl Smith and Pete Cohen built up an impressive catalog of songs that are mostly elegaic in the best way - full of nostalgia and sorrow but never mawkish or sentimental. Now that the Top 25 has been kicking around for a few days now I figured I'd post some thoughts as well as the bands that just missed the cut.
