The Shilohs – “The Place Where Nobody Knows I Go” (The Vancouver-based band recently released So Wild , their debut album via Light Organ Records. They combine jangly, Byrds-like guitars and sun-streaked 60’s pop with infectiously catchy melodies and hints of power-pop and folk for a sound that has one foot in the past and one in the future for a very promising debut.) https://www.facebook.com/TheSh ilohs Download: http://crash-avenue.com/Media/ mp3/Shilohs-place.mp3 [...]

Ume . There is the general feeling around these parts that they just need to blow up; power trio rock with the remarkably charismatic powerhouse lady putting down the jams should be a lock. I love photographing this band. I think every music photographer in Austin loves photographing this band thanks to Lauren's hair. But they weren't my highlight. Modern Outsider is a friend of the program. They have several great acts on their roster and bedsides being really good people, they call Austin home. So naturally, they decided to host a pre-SxSW showcase as part [...]
What a year. More than 140 Los Angeles-sired albums passed through the Buzz Bands LA headphones this year, not counting EPs, mixtapes and singles. Judging from the detritus at my desk — handwritten lists, stacks of CDs, press releases — and my unopened emails, there were a lot more out there. It came in all flavors. 2012 was a robust year for folkies and faux-folkies, hard rock and harder rock, for electro and popgazers, for scads of seemingly interchangeable garage-rockers, for radio bands and scruffy DIYers, for electronic dance music and electronic dumb music, for R&B and glitch&B [...]

Tarfest returned to the La Brea Tarpits Park on Saturday, with Blondfire, So Many Wizards, the Makepeace Brothers, the Steelwells, Helena and Soft Swells soundtracking an afternoon and evening that included live art, sculpture, food and family fun — including a monstrous outbreak of hula-hooping. The spectacular sunset behind the Makepeace Brothers' set kinda put the miracle in Miracle Mile. Here's a gallery from the day.

So how's your summer going? Great? Well, this will make it even better. Soft Swells — whose bright self-titled debut album gave everybody a head start on the summertime vibe when it was released back in Feburary — have unveiled a new single. "Summer Song" sounds like a classic the moment Tim Williams picks the first guitar notes. Like the tunes on Soft Swells' album, there's a wistful yet optimistic feel to Williams' seasonal ode. "I don't want this summer / to ever end," Williams sings. Same goes for this song, which will be available as a digital [...]

Buzz Bands LA Stage at Taix to feature Soft Swells, Warships, the Lonely Wild, the Record Company, Pageants and more Remember Sunset Junction? Not the fenced-off, charge-you-an-arm-and-a-leg Sunset Junction, but the free, neighborhood-y festival of its early years? That's what organizers have in mind for Echo Park Rising — a free, one-day celebration of local music art and commerce at more than two dozen venues in Echo Park. More than 70 local acts (and counting) are in the mix for the day's entertainment. Genre-mashing indie-rockers Fool's Gold [pictured], cumbia septet [...]

South by Southwest 2012 offered an orgiastic selection of music, too bounteous for any one person to digest. Buzz Bands LA contributing photographer Scott Dudelson made the rounds all week and hit some of the festival's buzziest artists — from everyone's darlings, Alabama Shakes (top photo) to swoon-worthy songstresses (Fiona Apple and Norah Jones) to L.A. favorites (Soft Swells and Jenny O) to indie favorites (Built to Spill and White Denim) to re-emergent veterans (the DB's and Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top). Here's a sampling of what he saw. Concert photography by Scott Dudelson
Over the next few days the Noise Room will post a few recommendations of a few bands and artists to see at SXSW. Many of them we've covered before but we like them and want to share the music with you. First up is Built to Spill. They will be playing at midnight at the IFC Crossroads House at Vice located at 302 E 6th Street. Next up is Soft Swells playing at Trinity Hall, 401 E 6th Street at 8:00 PM. [...]

Nine SoCal bands are playing Buzz Bands LA's "Dear Austin: Love, L.A." day party next Wednesday on the first day of the South by Southwest Music Festival. It seems like 999 SoCal bands are actually headed to Austin. When we started culling music from those artists, our uploader begged for for mercy. So we called upon old friend Kay Randolph (who had storage in his Soundcloud account) to assemble "LA x SXSW x 44," a mix featuring a selection of tunes that some of the participating bands have made available for download. Check out the mix below. [...]

"Every Little Thing" fue el single de adelanto cuyo vídeo puedes ver a continuación, también puedes descargarte "Put It On The [...]
