I finally got a copy of the Bedroom Mix of Soft Tiger's now infamous Mr Ice Cream and it reminded me of just why I loved Soft Tigers so much. Whimsical, care-free fun. Such good stuff. That album was so underrated. They said they'll be back soon with some pretty different stuff, but hopefully it'll still have that Tigers vibe to it. Soft Tigers - Mr Ice Cream (Bedroom Mix) [ ALT ]

Bufi- Steps [HGGLY RECC! 2 (why not?)] Soft Tigers- Maria [HGGLY RECC! 3 (soo nice tunes)] We'll miss u TT5O... ....but life goes on ( via [...]
...And for me, it was a letdown. I just don't feel it at all, it bored me out (yeah even the cricket theme) and in contrast to some hardcore Manuva fans I find myself loving the first single Buff Nuff instead. It's funny and something special, probably cause of the dancehall-ish production signed Toddla T...

If you know of Soft Tigers, it is most likely for their two biggest songs, M.A.R.I.A. and Mr Ice Cream. This is no surprise, because after all, these two songs are undeniably great. Catchy, energetic and fun, these two have 'hit' written all over them. You may also have seen them live and discovered a whole new side to them. Their on stage show is far more chaotic, mixing shambolic recreations of their recorded material with all sorts of new sounds. This experimental (and a little apathetic) approach means you never what you're going to get. Well their [...]
We've posted Soft Tigers a few times before ( here and here ) - but Bang Gang 12 Inch has just released "Mr Ice Cream" on their perfectly curated vinyl series. Knife Machine takes the track in a totally different direction shaking away the original's pop roots. Still a favorite. It's nice to hear a darker spin on the upbeat original. We're all over anything Knife Machine does anyway. They've been churning out some of the best remixes... Soft Tigers - "Mr. Ice Cream" (Knife [...]

A couple of weeks ago I was supposed to meet a friend in Marrickville for lunch and I ended up getting lost in some park. There were bugs everywhere, it was frightening, but eventually my friend came and found me. But why am I telling you this, I hear you ask? Well I think the more pressing question you should be asking is: how come I can suddenly hear your collective thoughts….? Exactly. Well what I was going to say before I was interrupted by your unusually loud thinking, is that the park I was lost in just so [...]

Soft Tigers debut LP(Gospel Ambition) dropped locally around 8 days ago. 12 tracks a couple of your old favs (Ice Cream & Maria) and a couple your soon to <3 (creation/makin'love...+). It's pretty gay to a song is beautiful right. like for a guy like me on a blog like this? But if it fingers would let me type it I'm sure it'd be the first ject to roll out of my index. Whazzzup Versus fans my name is Michael and I run the mp3 blog Your Only Friends . We pretty much cover the same stuff as Versus minus 90's Friday and we have got allot more grammatical errors. The Versus crew was kind enough to give me 20 seconds to whore my site Your Only Friends and drop some mp3z. Kill To Win have been posted here once before and if you haven't checked them out do so because you'll be downloading aplenty once these two release what they've been workin [...]

Consider it a Soft Tigers reprise of sorts. This is great and you should all have it in your collections, fo' sho'. Seriously, could anything as delicious-sounding as Soft Tigers-meets- Miami Horror ever be bad? NO . I've posted on Soft Tigers before but their debut disc, Gospel Ambitions , is finally seeing a release. Yayz! It's good stuff too. More of the group's eclectic indie-pop hodge-podge. And I mean that in the best way possible. Here's the first single off the record, Mr Ice Cream , which is totally going to be a massive summer jam for us Australian kids. And since I'm a nice guy here's another choon from Gospel Ambitions , live favourite Creation . Soft Tigers - Mr Ice Cream [...]

Australia, despite the fact that it is a fairly large country (geographically) and is, if you'll recall, also its own continent, has surprisingly enough a relatively small contingent of "indie" bands or so who make it big overseas. There's Architecture in Helsinki , of course, and Wolfmother , and then bands like Jet and, uh, Natalia Imbruglia (think "Torn"). Thankfully, more bands are coming our way - Soft Tigers are a four-piece AiH-ish act from Sydney that make some [...]
This week saw the arrival of the 100, 000th visitor to this site. Yay! To celebrate my ascension into the 6-figure club, you get 6 songs in today's mix. More yay! We Will Become Silhouettes - The Shins It didn't take long for these guys to feature again. I just can't get over how different it sounds to the original and how well it stands on it's own. Violets – Candy Bars This band has a really bizarre singing style that almost sounds like [...]
Soft Tigers - "MARIA" (YouTube) Soft Tiger's "Mr. Ice Cream Introduces" is just about one of my favorite songs ever. Unfortanetly their "MARIA" doesn't do much for me at all. BUT for whatever reason the Bumblebeez remix does. Jerry thinks it's a bit too chopped up, but that's why I like it... I guess different strokes for different folks. Then again, I'm on a total Bumblebeez kick right now ... Soft Tigers - "MARIA" (Bumblebeez remix) (mp3) (via [...]

Soft Tigers - 'M.A.R.I.A' ( Bumblebeez remix) ( mp3 ) A bit of Canberran loving here, both Soft Tigers and Bumblebeez both went to the same school. Here they are doing some remixing. Can't really decide if I like this one or not, it might be a bit too chopped up. www.myspace.com/softtigers

These days lo-fi cassettes are rarely used let alone produced, yet here we are in 2007, (originally Canberra but now...) Sydney band Soft Tigers have put out their debut album " Gospel Ambitions " on tape. Started as carefree school friends, in hoping to create something new. They've been getting loads of radio play since sending in their demos to stations such as FBi and JJJ late last year and there is no denying their successful tracks " Mr Ice Cream Introduces " and " M.A.R.I.A " are insanely catchy [...]
