After landing on the scene as the musical backing to Grieves' words back in 2008, Budo is ready to step in front of a microphone and present another side to what we have learned these past few years. He's embarking on a solo career and recently, he was kind enough to let me talk to him about his transition from providing instrumentation to holding the mic. We also discussed his musical styles, the mid-record software switch and his live shows. He's a talented cat that pretty much gives meaning and substance to the term "one man band man". Be on the lookout for when Budo [...]
Budo aka Josh Karp, a Seattle-born, Brooklyn-based multi-instrumentalist, composer, recording artist, and producer, now returns to the scene with a wonderfully crafted remix of “Dope” [...]
I've had this song on my iTunes ever since it came out last week, but I didn't think much of it at the time. Just a few minutes ago, however, it came on shuffle, and I immediately stopped what I was doing (scrolling through Twitter-I don't do actual work) and went to see whose song was playing. Lo and behold, it was Sol who just returned from his ten month creative retreat around the world. It took a random occurrence a whole week after its release for me to understand just how dope "Dope" is. I think that's dope. I [...]
Seattle emcee Sol has recently returned from a worldwide journey taking him as far as Africa, India and South America. Us, music-lovers, are pumped homie’s back. The Zillas provide the beat on this cut.

In the words of one of my favorite websites, Sneakhype...this shit is DOPE . Some of you may have heard of this guy, and shame on you if you haven't. This is Sol , also sometimes known as Solzilla , and he's a hip-hop artist from Seattle Washington. Sol released his album "Yours Truly" to critical acclaim, rising to #1 on iTunes US Hip Hop Charts and charting on Billboard's Heatseekers chart. Yours Truly dropped in 2012, so this marks Sol' s first big release in 2013. [...]
What up y'all? The Hip-Hop Dojo is back for round 3 and ready to bring you an onslaught of new hip-hop music. This week was dominated by Harry Fraud and Peter Rosenberg . With Rosenberg dropping his New York Renaissance mixtape today, we were provided with a slew of great releases from some of The Big Apple's best and brightest young emcees. The intro to the tape, is also the first collaboration between Joey Bada$$ and Harry Fraud. "Day In The Life" showcases that throwback flow that Joey and his Pro Era crew [...]
Seattle based recent University of Washington graduate, Sol is now back from his 10-month soul searching round the world excursion. And he has arrived with gifts. Dope gifts. The kind that The Zillas make ridiculously catchy beats to and such. Stream "Dope" below for now and be sure to look a bit more into Sol.

Sol's new track is indeed pretty Dope .

He's almost home guys. After dropping Yours Truly last year then topping the iTunes Hip-Hop list, charting on Billboard and graduating from the University of Washington, Sol packed up and began traveling the world. Ten months and India, Africa, South America and the Caribbean visits later, Sol is coming back to Seattle in a few weeks and has been letting us know in the form of songs and videos. "Dope" lets us know he hasn't lost a step creatively and leads us to anticipate some sort of project once he's back home. Stream "Dope" below.

Northwest-bred and now internationally-roaming Sol brings a new track today in the Zillas-produced "Dope". The more these entities team up on records the more it makes sense to just make a mixtape together - hopefully that's the direction we're heading in. Enjoy the track below and read more from Sol himself as he makes his way back to the states after a long journey abroad. Sol phones in (from Haiti this time) with his latest single "Dope" (prod. The Zillas) just a few short weeks before returning to the United States after [...]
![Sol – “Sometime in April” [Video]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4740770_lg.jpg)
You already knew Sol was out exploring the world when he checked in with us from India and we've now been blessed with another update from Seattle's wonder kid. Coming from South Africa this time, Sol takes an instrumental provided by Nima Skeemz and let's us know he's gone yet hasn't gone away. Yeah. Wrapping up the song, Sol mentions he'll be back in April and hopefully with a great follow up to Yours Truly .
As promised, Mausi have quickly followed up the premiere of their latest single "M O V E" with a stellar video for the track. Can't help but feel a bit nostalgic after watching this one; the Lisbon-set video reminds of the ATG Records albums euro-tripping exploits in the video for "sol." Watch it above and make sure you give "M O V E" a spin if you haven't already. Mausi's "M O V E" is available now via Loose Lips . STREAM: Mausi - "M O V E"

After a year in the lab, ATG Records alumni Mausi are back with a new sun-drenched anthem, "M O V E." Set for an official release in March, the track captures the irresistibility of "Sol" while turning things up a notch or two on the production front. The band will be releasing a sleek video for the track. You can watch a teaser for the Lisbon-set piece here . Mausi's M O V E is set for release on March 4th via Loose Lips . Expect a debut [...]

Deerman is a five piece alternative indie band from Sint-Niklaas in Belgium. Sofie (Vocals), Jonas (Guitar), Anthony (Guitar), Niels (Bass) and Dorus (Drums) got together in the summer of 2012 and set about playing their wares on the live circuit. Deerman A languid Stoner derivative meanders out of the speakers to fold around the listener as Deerman make full use of the two guitars to generate the atmospherics that engross the ears.
At the end of the year it often seems like I'm too busy with the big albums of the year and end of forgetting some lower profile releases. Here are some of the albums that we think you may have missed, but are still pretty awesome... 10. Hiss Golden Messenger - Poor Moon (Tompkins Square) [...]
Well, it’s feels a little strange doing a Top 10 list since I haven’t completed a full year yet at MetalInjection. Also, I really haven’t had as much time as I wanted to listen to a lot of new albums that I didn’t end reviewing for the site. The lists of my fellow bloggers probably ... After supporting the Blue Scholars on the Cinemetropolis tour last fall, Sol graduated from the University of Washington, released the #1 Hip Hop album on iTunes, and after a short tour, packed his bagged and decided to travel the world. Comparing Seattle to his current location (India), Sol wrote "Old Him" on a train in India over an instrumental by the Zillas in Seattle while fighting food poisoning from Indian KFC. Stream it below.
Seattle's own Sol made a name for himself quickly over the past couple of years. He released a handful of mixtapes, most notably Dear Friends Vol. III, and then left rap behind in an effort to travel and see the world. It's been about 5 months since we've heard from ... Read More
