Tonight, Greek electronic pop duo Keep Shelly In Athens play Whelan's in Dublin with Ginnels and White Collar Boy while tomorrow night, they hit Cork for a show in The Pavilion with Young Wonder and previous remixee Sacred Animals before a slew of gigs around Europe. It's rare that we're ever scared stiff nowadays. The current state of the world is so frightening in itself that it takes a lot in film and fiction for us to get the heeby-jeebies. Having announced their return with the fantastic Keep Shelly In Athens featuring Alpha People earlier in the year, Irish duo Solar Bears are back with a new track, also to be taken from their forthcoming sophomore album. Cosmic Runner is an expansive dance influenced number, utterly addictive and completely enthralling, it's one of those pieces of music that you never really want to end. Check it out below. I was just discussing some fine recent French movies with John from Solar Bears yesterday when they suddenly dropped their new song 'Cosmic Runner'. The krauty synth piece (accompanied by an appropriately cosmic picture) will be on their forthcoming album Supermigration , which is going to be awesome if 'Cosmic Runner' and ' Alpha People ' are anything to go by. Irish production duo Solar Bears are back with a new single that's so fittingly titled that it hurts. "Cosmic Runner" sounds just like what you would expect with a name like that. You could most certainly run to this tune, what with the driving, pulsing bass and drums and the wavering synthesizers. But good luck finding the appropriate location to do so here on Earth. This track demands the cosmos, and we'll probably be listening to this by the time we're all living there.

The excitement of a second Solar Bears album Supermigration is made all the more palpable by the appearance of 'Cosmic Runner'. Evocative of a retro vision of the future in aural form that is tighter in construction than most of the tracks on She Was Coloured In . It's a shimmering heading-nodding mood piece. 'Cosmic Runner' follows on from the January debut of 'Alpha People' which features vocals from Keep Shelly In Athens.
