What with all our new writers, I've been a little quiet of late. Here's a few tracks I should've posted a while ago. They mostly fit into the ubiquitous Exploited/MadeToPlay/Jackmode camp: Exploited Records' new-kid-on-the block Joyce Muniz has put together a lovely, breezy house edit of a Dusty Sprinfield classic. A chipper rhythm and light bongo drums make it easy listening, but it has that tech-house edge that could earn it a place on the deeper, more discerning dancefloors: Joyce Muniz - Spooky Dusty [pelski highly recommends] [...]

Alex Ebert of Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zero's and Ima robot has a solo album out coming out in March under the name Alexander . I can't believe I just found out yesterday (Thanks Michael Unger, sorry I'm stealing your thunder). Loving this mellow track ' Truth ' which has been floating around since late 2010. Any one else as excited for the full length as me? MP3: Truth - Alexander

I am not sure if this is a new track or not since the Youtube was uploaded on February 13th. Today being Valentine's Day , why not do something related to this so called "holiday". I've been liking Dirty Beaches music in 2011, having reviewed Badlands . Lucky that Dirty Beaches is touring with Dum Dum Girls. Check out Valentine .

Having finally emerged from the examninations jungle that January depressingly and lets face it, counter-productively, brings with it, there is now a fair bit of catch up to be done! But as Tom has previously mentioned to simply drop loads of tracks straight up without giving them due lip service would be to do them, their artists and you, our readers, a disservice. So we'll take things one at a time, which probably ain't a bad mantra in general... Listening through a backlog of tracks is always a bit of a challenge, trying to give everything time can [...]
The first single off Solo's debut mixtape 'Out Of The Ordinary'.
SoLo's management hit me up earlier this week with an update about the kid and a new video. Gotta say, it's a certified Jam. Billy Joel sample, fresh lyrics and flow from SoLo, and then you get Young Mel who sounds like a teenage Jay-Z. Enjoy, and look out for more from this dude soon. Enjoy! See his team's description of SoLo and the new track below: Solo's new music video "Movin Out" has been a great success, racking in over 15,000 views in less than a week. If you haven't already, I [...]
Another great addition to our interview series! We had a quick chat with exploited owner to see what's been going on and what's coming up with his label. TRPD:Hey Shir Khan, can you describe yourself in a few words? SK: Hi there. My name is Jan and I DJ since more than 10 years under the name of SHIR KHAN. I started out as a Hip Hop DJ playing mainly partys in Berlin. When I started to spin more eclectic stuff, onlinemagazines like Earplug and Pitchfork were hyping some of my mixes [...]
Our buddy Blair from Next Step Realty put us on to this song that his buddy directed for artist Solo . 18 year old Pat " SoLo" Jamieson hails from Hofstra University. His smooth voice and flow are pristine as well as his ability to create a fun feeling song. A very talented college rapper and member of the frat rap movement taking the nation by storm Solo - "Movin' Out"

The boys in Zombi have been spending the past year or so exploring their respective solo projects. Drummer A.E. Paterra released an album under the name "Majeure" on Temporary Residence Limited , and even got Justin K. Broadrick to remix one of the tracks. Steve Moore has been broadening his solo palette with this new EP, Primitive Neural Pathways . I seem to have overlooked it last year! It's out now via Static Caravan, and can be streamed in full here . Dig on a [...]

Seem to miss the boat when Dirty Beaches played a few Ottawa shows in late 2010. Now his tunes is being featured on Pitchfork. Doing some research, I was not aware that Dirty Beaches is a one man musician. What I didn't know was when I read the name Alex Zhang Hungtai, I was like he is Chinese!! (Technically Taiwanese for being Politically Correct). I feel we need more Asians representing the indie music scene. (Minus that Far East Movement that I've been listening.) From what I [...]

The public turmoil of which Paramore has recently gone through has left many wondering the band's future. The speculation of lead singer Hayley Williams going solo has gotten a boost when the Tennessee native posted a snippet of a solo track she wrote, "In The Mourning". Taking to her blog , Williams notes, "I didn't want to post the full thing yet because I don't want people thinking it's a new Paramore song. This is just something I wrote for fun. Hope you likes!" Take a listen and let B-Sides know what you think! [...]
Craig Nunn, British photographer, musician and likable guy who goes by Heartbeeps (and also plays in another favorite of ours, Internet Forever) has unveiled a free EP on Bandcamp called Canton as a gift to friends, fans and family for the new year. You can pay what you want for it, so it's free if [...]
