I've become a bit of an Applications, or apps, nut recently. There are some pretty amazing music making, and discovery apps out there. Soundcloud and Spotify lead the way in the sharing and discovery department, but there are many others with a unique and specific approach which help fine-tuned music geeks and those looking for [...]

[RSS Readers: See post to listen to audio] Four Tet shares a new song which will be coming out on this Fabriclive mix, I think long time fans will be really happy with this one, sounds like something off Rounds . Lets face it, the snacks haven't been the most healthy in the last few weeks. What can you expect from a West of Scotland blog! Well, as I'm in New Zealand now I though I would help cleanse the system with some tasty local fruits and slick tunes to help kick start the weekend. We loved the Solvent album that dropped on Ghostly late last year so when more of this dark, poppy electro hit the inbox it always worth a share. Grab this for free thanks to XLR8R [...]

With their new album, Forgive Yr Blood, garnering tons of praise for the raw honesty in their songwriting, it's exciting to share the brand new video for "yr ghost writer." The video, premiered at Sound On The Sound, plays out as a love letter to the wonderful venues of the Pacific Northwest in which they've [...]
Solvents frontman and songwriter, Jarrod Bramson, had a rough start in his early 20's. Bouncing from Eastern Washington, to Alaska, to Austin and meeting failures at every stop.It wasn't until he moved to a haunted little town at the edge of Washington's Olympic Peninsula that he found a home. Meeting Emily Madden in the tiny town of Port Townsend proved to be a new beginning.Madden and Bramson

Port Townsend's Solvents are rattling bones and turning heads their newest full-length, Forgive Yr Blood , which is out now on Bee Resin Records. Their new single yr ghost writer sounds like it was recorded in a cereal box (but really good cereal, like Kabooms), but you can't ignore the fact that this is potentially a great band. The video isn't really fancy, but then again, it's the song you want to be paying attention to in this case. Again, this is one of the few outfits [...]
Solvents "yr ghost writer" from Riot Act Media on Vimeo. Port Townsend's Solvents have been everywhere lately. And I don't mean on the blogs or the internet, this isn't a metaphor. I mean the band has been playing every major Northwest city, at least twice, seemingly in the past two weeks. When it comes to sheer [...]

Solvents are a "folk art rock pop" group from the Olympic Peninsula in the great state of Washington. Jarrod Bramson, main songwriter for the group, has managed to write, record and produce seven albums in about as many years. Defining the Solvents sound are the violin lines of Emily Madden. Her intuitive playing is an essential element that works beautifully with Bramson's vocals and words. Together they create the Solvents rich atmosphere, contrast, and memorable melodies. Forgive Yr Blood is the Solvents' culmination, their coming out party. This new album came out last November [...]

THE SOLVENTS myspace [mp3] Forgive Yr. Blood It's all about the way you spell "your".
The secret weapon in a number of our favorite new local bands and releases this year was the unexpected violin: Baltic Cousins, The Head and the Heart and Port Townsend's Solvents. Nothing ups a song's moody loveliness than violin as "We Were Guests Here" proves.
