Cursive + Cymbals Eat Guitars + Conduits / Mr. Small's / 03.18.2012 / Doors 7:00 / $16 Words by Brendan There must be something in the water in Omaha. There have been so many great bands from that Nebraska city, and there are plenty more on the up-and-up. Case in point: shoegaze gloom-pop band Conduits . They're putting out their first LP this month and heading on a cross-country tour with two great rock bands- Cursive (fellow Omahans!) and Cymbals Eat Guitars -and they're [...]

Conduits will release their self-titled debut album on March 30th through Team Love. The Omaha sextet formed in 2009, and features members of The Good Life, Eagle Seagull, Son Ambulance, Neva Dinova, Cursive, and The Golden Age. Hear a cut from their debut below. MP3: Conduits - "Top of the Hill" Within the ethereal dreaminess and sonic waves of shoegaze, "Top of the Hill" both relaxes and swallows you whole. It weaves harmony out of chaos and holds everything together with the type [...]
Two Gallants have not been very active since we last checked. An EP, The Scenery of Farewell, and their self-titled album were both released in 2007, and they remain the band's latest material. This is a bit odd considering Adam Haworth Stephens and Tyson Vogel, the two longtime friends that comprise the duo, churned out [...]

Paper Snowflakes | Son, Ambulance [ mediafire ] [ buy ] Snow makes me briefly happy, but coldness generally makes me want to hibernate or die. Oh yeah, it snowed today as well as last night. I like Son, Ambulance because they're one of the more subtly sexual but beautiful bands I started listening to in my mid-teens. By this, I mean that there is some sex in most every song, but that instead of being raunchy, it's more like a distant but fond memory, kind of nostalgic and never dirty. [...]

It seems to be a universal truth, the longer your work week felt, the shorter you weekend will feel. I swear I blinked and this weekend was history...so depressing. But with music, we shall overcome. I have been listening to a ton of Omaha band Son, Ambulance lately...mostly their latest album 'Someone Else's Deja Vu' but some of the older stuff too. This tune sounds to me like a beautiful ode to T Rex. I love it. It can be found on the 2004 release 'Key.' Weekend out. * Son, Ambulance - [...]

Son Ambulance 's new album is called Someone Else's Deja Vu . I am not really sure if the band puts the comma in between the two words anymore. Their official site seems comma less but wikipedia has it. I could of sworn the band use to always have the comma. Anyway that is a mystery that no one really cares about. Here are two songs from their new album that are very good and everyone shoud check out. Mp3s after the jump. [...]

NewYorkWatch! Per festeggiare la nuova rubrica NewYorkWatch , inaugurata nella puntata di venerdì scorso con il collegamento di Matte live from Manhattan, ecco una mini-playlist totally random di musica recente dedicata alla Grande Mela. If electro indie pop group The Faint gets you swooning, then this is one interview you don't want to miss. Lead singer Todd Fink took the time to talk to Bethany about the band and how to live the good life when not on the road. Check it out: PopWreckoning, Bethany: So Fasciination was the first time you guys did everything in your album making process. What sort of new challenges did you face with that? Was it similar to remixing? Todd Fink, The Faint: Yeah, [...]

Un mélange des genres pour satisfaire toutes les envies. vampire weekend -m79- murs -bad man- son, ambulance -a girl in new york city- the zutons -don't get caught-

Son Ambulance - Someone Else's Déjá Vu' Verdict: Indifferent (~) Son Ambulance - Someone Else's Déjá Vu'

I can't comment much on Urban Outfitters as a place to shop since there no such store exists in the homely town of Logan, Utah. However, I will say they've put up a large collections of songs catering to the inner indie-kid. It's 21 songs, and it's free - what's not to like? Plus, it has some new Blitzen Trapper. That'll make the click worth it. Besides, theyr'e BUZZ bands, and that's what's cool and hip, right? Well, I guess until Pitchfork notices that more than 15 people like these bands, [...]
Yo Soy Bean is one of my hopefuls. They are one of the few lights in a city that's mostly focused on partying to shitty music with popped collars. Yo Soy Bean was formed from the ashes of The Cato Letters , another great band. My roommate Jordan was the first person to tell me about Yo Soy Bean (he's the bassist). I looked them up and to my surprise they actually had something going. They had talent and had already written several great songs in their nascence. It would be [...]

As frequently happens around here, I'm way behind. Here's what came out last Tuesday.... Released on 7/8/08 Records I've Heard: Albert Hammond Jr .: Como Te Llama? (Black Seal) – The rhythm guitarist for the Strokes releases his second solo album and still no new Strokes record (although people tell me they've been working on it). I was a fan of Hammond's debut, Yours to Keep, so I was excited when this showed up in the mail. The charming thing about that [...]
Son Ambulance has been unfairly compared to Ben Folds. And when I say "unfairly," I mean, "if I were Ben Folds, I would be calling my lawyers and seeing how lucrative suing music journalists can be." But, like all inferior things that get compared to something more established, the comparison is unfair on both sides. Son Ambulance can't hold a candle to Ben Folds. But it's not because Son
