Elliott BROOD kicked off the release of their third full-length album Days into Years last night by breaking in one of Sonic Boom's new locations, with its very first in-store performance. NPR Music recently posted a three-song set from the recent Panda Bear show at Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn. Sonically, this was one hell of a hypnotic show. Noah Lennox (a.k.a. Panda Bear, also of Animal Collective ) served up dense layers of guitar and vocals, while special guest Peter Kember (a.k.a. Noah Lennox, more famously known as Panda Bear of Animal Collective , made an appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night, performing Tomboy 's opening track "You Can Count On Me". Oddly this feels like perhaps the most ambitious and daring song to perform in your network television debut, and he takes a two minute track from the album Tomboy and stretches it at least another minute while stretching out his pipes. Last month word came that Sonic Boom would be leaving its Capitol Hill location and today Everyday Music has announced that they'll also be vacating their new home next to Elliott Bay Bookstore and looking for a more affordable place to sell their wares. Popular Toronto record store Sonic Boom will be moving from its current home at 512 Bloor Street West to take up shop at nearby Honest Ed's in late August. According to a press release issued by the store, the move comes as a result of the landlord's decision "to hand the space over to a large corporation without giving [store owner Jeff] Barber the opportunity to meet or beat whatever was being offered."
