Wow. This was painful. I tried to describe as many of these as I could without resorting to copy/paste from record labels, 'zines or blogs, but eventually we all start to fatigue. Sure, it'd be nice to look all respectable with one-hundred totally unique and informative descriptions of these albums, but I don't have that kind of [...]
Ah, life is good. Especially when the New York Giants win convincingly against one of the better teams in the NFL. The dread that fills me on certain Sundays when I worry the team I support might underperform came again today. By halftime I felt much better, though. Still…when is Kevin Gilbride (the team's offensive [...]

Don't know Otis but I'd like to. I'm guessing he's bad-ass - just like his boys. I'm gonna go ahead and say right now that Sons Of Otis have one of my favorite records this year with their latest, Seismic . I'll buy the earth-shaking vinyl just as soon as it's released, which I hope is sometime soon. I'm partial to Small Stone Records anyway - you know this - but I think there's something really extra-special here. Extra-heavy, too. Seismic? You better believe it. It's also [...]
Another busy weekend. After Friday night's movie debacle, I worked all day Saturday and then celebrated the birthday (or name day, if you're a Game of Thrones fan!) of a friend. The revelry occurred at a bar in Koreatown that makes for a pretty great restaurant, but maybe not the optimal hang-out bar. Food was [...]

Finally, the volcanic dust has (almost) settled! For everyone no longer fighting short term memory loss and extreme fatigue caused by sleep deprivation and sensory overload, get ready to re-live the highlights of Roadburn Festival 2010 ! Now we all know that Roadburn is undoubtedly one of the absolute coolest festivals of the year. Masters of bringing the best of heavy rock, stoner and doom together under one smoky haze, Roadburn is the highlight of the summer festival season for tons of rock fans. Unfortunately, not everyone has the chance to get there, whether because [...]

Printer cartridge instructions from Asia are always a hilarious find. This came out of an ink package at work. It's hard to believe a technical writer somewhere in the world was actually paid to write this. Oh, to be a college graduate during the Internet boom of the '90s. I could have been retired by now... Instead, I'm working at a record store and compiling mix tapes for people I don't know or even care about (well, maybe ten of you I care about). How depressing. Rather than wallow in my self-pity any longer, I'll just skip ahead [...]
Hi lovers. Tonight is Sunday. LOST begins again on Wednesday. That's like, three nights! Holy fuck balls! RULES for uninitiated noobs : With roughly 100MB of webspace, I give birth to a weekly Mix Tape to be deposited on your iPods or Zunes or Kingklangs or whatever the industry is currently pushing on you. Sometimes there will be themes that link all the songs together, other times I'll just throw songs at a wall (not literally) and see what sticks. This week I am compiling something that combines elements of intense instrumentation with frustrated, [...]

Chris From Australia! Thank you for your donation you wonderful, special person you! Nicci from down the street! Thank you for your surprise donation, it was completely unnecessary you wonderful, special girlfriend you! That makes for six donations in five days. We've almost reach half of my goal with ten days left to go! Please keep donating, friends. If you love [...]

Twelve noon and eighty-eight degrees doesn't seem like an uncomfortably hot day, but I am sitting in my bedroom (in boxers and a t-shirt...eh? Ladies?) and I have actually broken a sweat. It's not like my desk is in direct sunlight either. I have to crane my neck just to see around a neighboring apartment building. Still, I find it unusual that the days seem to go from unseasonably hot to cold in a seemingly random way. Whatever. None of you care about my life and my daily struggles anyway, so here's a new blog entry for you. [...]
To say that I am a bit tired and sore would certainly be an understatement. I don't think I've packed and hauled this much since the golf range was closing back in December/January. Steve's apartment is rather empty now, the entire contents of which (or nearly all contents) are currently sitting in the back of a rented U-Haul van. I'll be traveling to San Francisco until Saturday to help him move into his new apartment. If anyone knows where I can get some sweet, numbing, euphoria-inducing muscle relaxants, please do not hesitate to get in contact with me. I do [...]
