This Thursday, Cut Chemist is bringing his self-curated show Tunnel Vision to the Mezzanine in San Francisco (full details below the flyer). Tonight will be the second show in the Tunnel Vision tour at the House Of Blues in Hollywood. The show not only features turntablist pioneer and legend Cut Chemist alongside Boston hip-hop heroes Edan & Mr. Lif, but also visuals from none other than inventive filmmaker Tom Fitzgerald. This will be an awesome show that is a must-see for any hip-hop listener or DJ who thinks music can only be made on a computer. I used the [...]

That's like, a lot of people, man. Outside of surprisingly tame Warped Tour (2004) and Lollapalooza (2006) experiences, I am pretty unlearned in the way of big-time festivals. I like wireless internet. I like duvets. Hell, I love long showers. But, against my better judgment and my body's wishes, I will be making the roughly 700 mile trek this Wednesday evening with 75,000 other junkies, goons, hippies, hipsters, hoopsters, blipsters, eagle scouts and everyone else in-between to the muggy fields of Manchester, Tenn. All joking aside, Bonnaroo is about the music, and we have [...]

From Outside Lands Mix, Part 1: I recently bought my ticket to Outside Lands , the premier Northern-California music event which is hosted in Berkeley's enchanting People's Park…wait…I meant to say San Francisco's gorgeous Golden Gate Park. The festival is cheaper than Coachella, the weather's going to be nicer, and even though Kanye West isn't performing it's well worth it . To get myself, those Metrojolt fans who are also going, and those still thinking about getting a ticket super stoked about this special experience, I'm starting an exploration into the artists performing at the festival. [...]
Filed under: News Eric Rejman for STS9 STS9 (aka Sound Tribe Sector 9 ) recently fulfilled a two-year goal of theirs when they turned over the keys to a house that they built -- through fund-raising efforts -- to Katrina survivors in New Orleans' hurricane-ravaged Lower Ninth Ward. The project began in 2009 with STS9's 'Make It Right' drive, during which they used proceeds from a 'Peaceblaster' remix compilation and several fan VIP packages to fund [...]

Headlining the absolutely killer Live Stage on Day 1 of UMF 2011 will be Royksopp , Designer Drugs, Holy Ghost and Sound Tribe Sector 9. We've spoke of all of those artists here on LessThan3 except the illustrious jam-electro band from our very own country. Sound Tribe Sector 9, or STS9, is definitely not something you want to miss. Based in Santa Cruz, California (although formed in Atlanta), the band describes themselves as "post-rock dance music," which would be a nice and broad way of putting it. The sound of STS9 treads the [...]

We've started to see a number of bands announce plans for their New Year's Eve celebrations [...]
