Alabama-born Aman Ellis releases a new EP at the end of June under his AIMES moniker. The first song to be released from the record is the subtle yet fascinating Somewhere In Space We Hang Suspended, a track which drifts along on a simmering summer vibe before a dreamy and restrained vocal takes the track somewhere far more relaxing and withdrawn. A track to truly lose yourself in, fingers-crossed the rest of the EP holds up to the quality found here. We having a feeling it will. Find out on June 26th when [...]

Detroit techno progenitor Kevin Saunderson made an indelible mark on electronic music when he — along with childhood friends Derrick May and Juan Atkins — helped take dance music into the future in the '80s. Known as the Belleville Three, the three DJ/producers kickstarted a sound that continues to blossom in the global underground. While [...]
You have to know where you've been to know where you're going. You kids probably don't remember, but this is how we did it in 1977:
And with that, SpaceX is a go and NASA has turned to the private sector to help deliver payloads to space.

Bright Matter , the electro pop project of Brian Graham we told you about back in December , have a new dramatic single out called “Astronaut”. The song is about an astronaut named Neil, whose ship breaks down orbiting Earth. This is one last, desperate plea to try to make one last effort to connect to anything. Reminds me a bit of the fantastic film Moon, and how awful and degrading the feeling of complete loneliness can be. The vocals are rightfully gigantic, and after hearing the track, feel ever so bad for Neil. [...]

via ( 7hesaint ) My two new favorite dublin producers, Lumigraph and Sweet D, have a couple of new tunes on their soundclouds. Tasty bass treats. Firstly Sweet D . He updated his sound bank with a track entitled, 'Change Up (Rework)', he originally had a different one up but replaced it with this gem. An aquiflied Lone-esque Sega genesis vibe seeps through this basement churner's velocity to produce this highly compacted tune. Grab it below... Secondly Lumigraph . Just a day ago he gave his [...]

Some genres suffer from a lot of cliches. OK, so all genres do to some extent, but some suffer that bit more, like they have a black hole of cliches sucking infinitely upon them. It doesn't stop credible music or new ideas being written within that genre, but it makes it an absolute minefield in which to tread. One of the obvious genres to suffer this affliction is rock, which is possibly down to the over-ambitious bands of the 70s and 80s that eventually led to the likes of Spinal Tap and Bad News finding a [...]
Future Disco Ibiza return to Space, curating the music every Tuesday night from 8pm to 12am at the club's famed Sunset Terrace. FDI's third year at the club kicks off on July 3 with special guest John Talabot. And here's a nice perk: everyone at the Future Disco party receives entry to Carl Cox's Revolution [...]

Within 24 hours of being posted to Soundcloud, Space, Ladies ' Medusa EP was snatched up by Senseless Records - pretty quick for a producer that is relatively unknown. The EP features two original tracks as well as four complimentary remixes by iO , Kiev , Sentel , and Sarantis . iO 's rework of "Medusa" sounds like something that could have played out during Kingdom 's 4am red-letter set at Shambhala last summer. The London-based producer has been generating some heat recently, what with his recent mix for [...]
It took my a while to come around Niki & The Dove, but here I am. Following up the 2011 EP "The Drummer", it is hard not to deny there is something behind the hype of their upcoming record "Instinct" (out May 14). "Tomorrow" is huge, and I cannot wait to hear more. [...]
Observatory by Jermainesoul UK producer Jermainesoul has released a 5-track tape, calling it Observatory . The productions featured here provide a lot of atmosphere with spaced out percussion and warm synthesizers fading in and out. The tracks featured here lead my imagination to take think of the emptiness of space and the vastness of it all. This is an effect I have to assume he intended to capture with the title and artwork for the release, if so he has done it exceptionally well.

As was reported back in February, the friends and family of the late, great John Peel were setting themselves the massive undertaking of cataloging the entirety of his record collection, one of the largest and most important collections in the world. This is no mean feat. His collection comprises of more than 25,000 LPs and 40,000 singles, all of which he'd been keeping track of since 1969. The first album to get the coveted 0001 number was Mike Absalom 's "Save The Last Gherkin For Me!" which you can [...]

John Peel needs no introduction but being that guy was such a badass, I’ll give one anyway. Mr. Peel was a prolific British DJ, broadcaster, record producer and journalist, who did more for spreading experimental and new music than anyone else I can name. He was one of the first broadcasters to play psychedelic rock and progressive rock records on British radio, and he is widely acknowledged for promoting artists working in various genres, including pop, reggae, indie rock, alternative rock, punk, hardcore punk, breakcore, grindcore, death metal, British hip-hop and dance [...]
Charisma - Magnifique (1979) One of the cosmicest sci-fi disco pieces unheard on this blog. I can't believe it ! For those who don't know yet little advice: just let yourself high ! An Anthony Monn's production just like O.R.S. (Orlando Riva Sound) or Amanda Lear amongst others. Related posts Hot Sound Related posts Hot Sound
