I took a couple film shots of the super group of Spectrum + MGMT. They came on for one song and then left, and then Spectrum did one more song and then left. Then for the encore, the most amazing thing happened. Everyone including MGMT came back out and ....basically stood around. It was so funny. MGMT fiddled with knobs. It ended up being a really good show. I liked Spectrum a lot.
The 2000s have seen a host of wonderful re-issues; the Japan discography ,Tom Verlaine's Dreamtime , Danielle Dax's Dark Adapted Eye , the Wipers Box Set , for instance. Even still, there are many more critically important albums and hidden gems that could certainly stand to be re-released. Brittany Bosco is a progressive soul diva out of Savannah, GA, and honestly that's about as much as I know about her except that her quite excellent EP "Spectrum" is available for free download and has been creating quite some buzz just recently. Ok, can someone please put me on to Spectrum? I saw them open for My Bloody Valentine last night and was blown away by this strange, dark blend of shoegaze, electro and goth sounds.
