Perhaps too harshly judged for being a fledgling artist who won the Mercury Prize who didn't translate that success into sales, it's good to see Speech Debelle back and armed with a more full-formed sound than her previous album Speech Therapy . 'Studio Backpack Rap' is the first single from her second album Freedom Of Speech and finds her in more colourful mode with some lively live arrangements. The album is out in February. The album's title will be Freedom of Speech , and will be the followup to Debelle's Mercury Music Prize-winning debut, Speech Therapy . The beat on this track is absolutely nasty, and the lyrics create a clever tribute to the new age of technology-aided DIY recording. I hope every track on this album is as fun and creative.
