Featuring blazing contributions from David Byrne, Chuck D., Ras Congo, Seu Jorge & Z-Trip, Squeak E. Clean and his cohort DJ Zegon aka N.A.S.A . use the repeat function on their laptops for the coda "money is the root of all evil" and up the Soviet kitsch with this awe-inspiring visual clip that blatantly and unapologetically rips so much of the Shepherd Fairey lore and intent, it's hard to separate image from message. The duo's debut LP, The Spirit Of Apollo , is out February 17. (mp3) N.A.S.A. - N.A.S.A. Music (LA Riots [...]
A few things vaguely Shepard Fairey related streaming together on me this week... Guy I've really been into lately, played the Obey party at SXSW this past year, is Nosaj Thing (aka Jason Chung). He is a L.A.-based electronic artist/producer. Known for some excellent remixes of names like Radiohead, Health and Daedelus, but makes some pretty excellent music in his own right. Namely, we are [...]

- M'sieur, un euro siouplé, pour manger... - ...

Two summers ago a friend of mine in L.A. gave me a hip-hop demo tape from some dudes called N.A.S.A. - little did I know at the time that the duo was comprised of Squeak E. Clean and DJ Zegon . Expecting the C.D. to be just any old wack promo disc pushed on me by an over-eager manager, I tossed it aside for quite some time. But during one of my many early-morning drives to Warner Records I decided half-hearted electro remixes just weren't cutting it - for some reason or another [...]

My favorite part of blog culture (and perhaps why I enjoy blogging so much) is the faceless nature of the medium. I've always been someone who prefers to make an impact in the background, letting my words and work speak for themselves. There's an undeniable power and allure to being heard, but not seen. Squeak E. Clean is a man who seems to share my ideals. I've been fascinated by Spike Jonze's brother Sam Spiegel (aka Squeak E. Clean) since he first appeared in the semi-public eye in 2005 when he teamed [...]
The London Film Festival premiere of Aaron Rose's Beautiful Losers documentary. Arguably the most important/most inspiring North American art culture/movement in the last 15 years. The after party features art and photography from Cheryl Dunn and for the UK - Ben Drury, Will Barras, INSA, James Jarvis and French , music line-up - Squeak E Clean, Nosaj Thing, Take, Patchwork Pirates and Vamanos , exclusive extra screenings from the [...]
I'm not sure if I've been under a rock on this one, but I've never heard of N.A.S.A. (the DJ duo, not the space agency). Luckily for them, they were obviously on the radars of more important people - their debut album, The Spirit of Apollo , features a veritable who's who of indie-rock, rap and DJ legends, including David Byrne , Tom Waits , M.I.A. , Kanye West , the Yeah Yeah Yeahs , Scarface , the Wu-Tang Clan , Chuck D and [...]

N.A.S.A. (North America South America) is an international collective of musicians spanning a wide spectrum of musical genres, centered around Squeak E. Clean (Sam Spiegel) and DJ Zegon (Ze Gonzales). At first they sampled rare Brazilian records from the 60's and 70's to make tracks. However, what started as two crate diggers making music for the fun of it soon developed into something much bigger. Having forged a strong friendship through their passion for music, Sam and Ze decided to make a record with all of their heroes and favorite musicians. The idea was to bring people from different worlds [...]

Attention DJs. Squeak E. Clean and DJ Zegon aka N.A.S.A. created "N.A.S.A. Music" one of the best tracks to slip into your sets. It's crucial as hell. And the fact that "N.A.S.A. Music" now has a remix by the dudes in LA Riots that includes E-40 and Method Man, well, shit. There's no way you can't play this. (mp3) N.A.S.A. - N.A.S.A. Music (LA Riots remix) Godspeed!

From what will appear on the Yeah Yeah Yeahs ' upcoming Is Is EP comes this sensational track, "Down Boy." The band's attempt to capture and sustain suspense throughout the live video is becoming one of the key reasons the band has grown on me as like it has. Ever since "Miles Away" I've been hoping for another such song that snowballs into a conclusive piece of hidden frustration...and to some degree this song relieves that need. While it isn't necessarily as hard driving as many of the group's songs through the song [...]

I guess you already know I like this song. I wrote about it last year. And it earnt it's way into my top 30 songs of 2006 list . And now I've discovered this great remix which I just had to share with you 'cause I thought you might like it. Originally a collaboration between Teddybears and Iggy Pop , here it's been remixed by Squeak E Clean . And while he may be the owner of one of the worst musical monikers in musical moniker history, he's also Spike [...]

Karen O & Squeak E. Clean - Hello Tomorrow (auglýsingaútgáfa) Karen O & Squeak E.
