R.I.P. Cleotha Staples (of The Staples Singers) Cleotha Staples, the eldest sister and founding member of the The Staples Singes, died Wednesday at the age of 78. According to the Chicago Tribune , Staples was suffering from from Alzheimer’s Disease for 12 years, and had been under 24-hour home care. To date, The Staples Singers have sold over 10 millions records, including “Respect Yourself”, "I'll Take You There", and "If You're Ready (Come Go With Me)".
