Yeah, that's the name of the band. Star Fucking Hipsters . Apparently, I missed the boat on them. According to Wikipedia , they were a Punk Rock "supergroup" of alot of NYC gutter punk bands. Sorta a combo of So-Cal "surf" guitar ala Agent Orange and also the Fat Wrechords bands, punk rawk, hardcore and ska plus trade-offs of guy and gal vox like X (though these guyz are much more shrill and hardcore). Great fucking lyrics and really enjoyable toonage. Alot of people like the band Fucked Up [...]

So tomorrow is Easter, and for most of us on the east coast here, that marks the mental beginning of Spring. Avoid those god-awful popcorn jellybeans (seriously, vomit tastes better), go find the eggs Jesus laid or something, and rock out. Unexceptional, if occasionally exciting, agitprop from New York's squatter scene. Scott Sturgeon has had about as long and varied a career as someone without a fixed address can: from Lower East Side ska-punk terrors Choking Victim to Leftover Crack (aka "Choking Victim with a larger recording budget"), Sturgeon has been making agitprop punk music for nearly 20 years now, all woven with the common threads of ska, metal, and crust music. Star Fucking Hipsters is Sturgeon's current vehicle for his rabble-rousing sentiments, and he's chosen...

ARTIST: Star Fucking Hipsters - [Album] with free mp3 download for 'Death Is Never Out Of Fashion' from From The Dumpster To The Grave by Star Fucking Hipsters DATE: 11-10-11 REVIEW BY: Bill Adams As has been proven time and again, a single album can never be the only thing which decides a band's worth. Anyone can have a misstep or even do a flat-out creative face plant as the tape rolls, but then get back up, produce something incredible and force critics to eat their words the [...]
Scott Sturgeon and his self proclaimed crack rock steady bands (Star Fucking Hipsters, Choking Victim, Leftover Crack) have always stirred mixed feelings among punk rock fans. Earlier this month, Star Fucking Hipsters released their 3rd album entitled "From The Dumpster To The Grave", and love them or hate them... they sure can write a catchy fucking tune.In past releases the band mixed
Filed under: News , R.I.P. The punk world is mourning the loss of Jean Paul Toulan, who first got his start as the frontman for pre-teen punks Old Skull. According to Punknews.org , Scott Sturgeon of Star F---ing Hipsters -- a band that once included J.P.'s brother Jamie -- confirmed the news of Toulan's passing. The cause of his Nov. 13 death is still unknown. Born in 1980, J.P. formed Old Skull with his younger brother Jamie and a friend, Jesse Collins-Davis, in Madison, Wis., in 1989. The band was [...]
On Friday night, I battled flooding in my neighborhood and headed out to West Philly's Gold Coast Lounge to catch a little bit of the crack rock steady, Star Fucking Hipsters and Morning Glory. The bar was the most divey of dives I have ever been to (and completely awesome for said reasons). No stage, just set up on the floor, and I was one of the only one's without a Colt 45 in my hand. I

After a slow week or so (besides Siren and the Gospels show last night), the end of July in NYC is gonna be nothing short of awesome. Too many good shows. Highlights are hard to come by since almost of these look like outstanding shows, but I'll pick the best of the best. I'm super excited to see the guys from Sirs play in none-other-than Shea Stadium on Thursday (7/22), where not too long ago lots of Ridgewood kids just played/watched the fantastic Chocolate Bobka showcase. On Friday there's the Free Energy/Best Coast/Loose Limbs FREE show at South Street Seaport [...]

Some Saturday nights you have no idea what you're going to get into, and the next thing you know you're in a house full of crust and mall punks drinking 40s, waiting to see NYC's Star Fucking Hipsters. I headed down to South Philly's Ava House at the very last minute on a whim, took some allergy medicine to deal with the smoke (up the Allegra punks!) and wound up making it just in time as Star
If my understanding of roman numerals is correct, this week's Friday Mixtape marks out 80th edition! 80... that's a big number! Enjoy! NEW Singles: "I Don't Like Your Band" by Annie "Tiger Tamer" by Arms [...]
