Star Slinger has revealed he's recording new material with Kitty Pryde . The perpetual-remixer wrote on Twitter earlier today (7 December) that he was heading into the studio with the Tumblrcore rapper, pictured above, and hip-hop artist Remy Banks . The UK producer tweeted the following: bout to head to studio in a couple hours for a sesh w/ @ kittaveli and @ remybanks — StarSlinger (@StarSlingerUK) December 7, 2012

Loving Star Slinger right now! A couple minutes ago the dude shared his own edit of his own single "Mornin'." If you're fan of the "old" Slinger, I'm totally sure you're fan of this single, and you're going to LOVE this edit. According to the man himself: "... edit of Mornin' i made backstage in Lyon. i get a lot of requests for mornin' and i wanted a way of playing it in my sets, but i dont play anything else the speed of the original. so here is the edit ive been playing out." You already know [...]
For me, Star Slinger 's latest tunes haven't really done it for me. But the thing is, I can appreciate the fact dude's doing his damn thing in the dance music arena. I completely understand the fact he wasn't getting the love he deserved doing hip-hoppy beats with a strong Dilla influence. Either way, I'm not about to pass up on covering Slinger's dance floor-ready edit of "Mornin'", which is one of my favorite tracks from his catalogue. Is this version as good as the O.G.? Nah, it's just different .

. Ladies in the back have shaken ass for far less than a rap-song dedication, so it was very gracious of Star Slinger to salute these timeless movers and shakers on his new EP, Ladies In The Back , where every song is titled “Ladies In The Back". The first lyric of each song? “This is dedicated / To the ladies in the back.” We get the picture. The England-based rapper/remixer, Slinger, went to school for music technology. His technical flair reflects in this EP. The original song, which features French rapper Teki Latex, pairs the [...]

We can't get enough of this. And Jay Fay 's remix is really really blasting and booooooming. How about that tempo drop in the second part? Make sure to check out the original Star Slinger and Teki Latex anthem too!

Somewhat of an eclectic mix today. Pretty much just shuffled through my favorites and these popped up. I don't think you'll mind one bit. Buke & Gase (formally Buke & Gass) is an up-and-coming Brooklyn-based duo with a really cool, original sound. They released their 2nd EP, Function Falls , this year on Brassland and plan to release their debut full-length, General Dome , this coming January. Keep an eye on these two, I anticipate a [...]

As you can see in the picture above, UK producer Star Slinger 's got something to celebrate: his new Ladies In The Back EP which just dropped yesterday. We featured the title track in its original electronica-meets-drone-rap form a few months ago, and today, we bring you the alternate "Party Mix" version. If you dig it, make sure to purchase a beautiful physical copy or the digital files via iTunes. Ladies In The Back is out via Star Slinger's own label Jet Jam .

Until last Thursday night, it had been about 9 months since I staged a public DJ session. The purpose of the event was the reopening of a restaurant near Fisherman's Wharf. It was also invite only, extended to hospitality and service industry employees alike. About an hour into my set, which was composed of melodic, groovy nu-disco/electronic/chillwave selects, I made a transition to Average White Band and Motown. Aha! I had hit a nerve. The people started moving. Someone from the crowd (which was older than I had expected) approached the DJ table, and I knew before they [...]
Star Slinger brings us this really cool remix of Kendrick Lamar’s “Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe”. I mean the original is my joint, so I was scared to listen. But Star Slinger goes in. He changes the “vibe” completely and speeds it up with some quick high hats and a dance beat. Enjoy. Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe - Kendrick Lamar - Star Slinger Remix - Click to download

Once Star Slinger got his hands on a track from rapper of the moment, Kendrick Lamar , I think you already knew what the results would be. The UK mastermind producer brings Kendrick’s “Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe” into pure house territory on this. Please note, that he just made this casually on a train ride to London. I would have just been sleeping. Kendrick Lamar - Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe (Star Slinger Via London Refix) by Star Slinger

Oh no, did you just put a Kendrick Lamar track in the hands of Star Slinger! Yeah, I hope your ears are prepared for the awesomeness that is about to enter.

Star Slinger brings the nasty with his take on Kendrick Lamar's " Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe ". Young Kendrick is becoming a beast in his own right, but this cut makes him sound unstoppable.

Star Slinger comes through with his rendition of the Good Kid's, "Bitch, Don't Kill My Vibe", just in time for the weekend. The resulting edit is a cross between the southern trap production style and the deep running bass of upbeat house. The sped up tempo makes for a Kendrick Lamar cut that has the potential to be played out in a variety of sets. Cop the free download courtesy of Star Slinger and show him some love! This is the perfect complement to the unexpectedly sunny day that has just confronted me (and my standard Saturday morning headache). It's all bright and cheery and there are people walking dogs, eating ice creams and sunbathing with tanning reflectors. Ok...so not quite, but it's still warm and I'm pretty sure everyone out there is listening to this on their iPods which makes it seem better anyway. Let's face it, a Star Slinger refix of a Kendrick Lamar tracl is always going to be good unless the former has suffered a terrible breakdown and spiralled into a psytrance-tinged experimental period.
