I thought that Stardust's 1 hit wonder "music sounds better" was one of those timeless wonders of the last decade that could not be remixed and made even better. I have been proven wrong... Enter DiscoTech , the crunkie grime electro remixers from USA have been ripping up the underground dance scene and blog world with there brain jiggling beats . Don't get me wrong, the original version is dope but the rough synthesized beats altered in this remix makes your nipples go pointy . have a listen y'all [...]

lastnightsparty Got three great remixes from Miami Horror ! They've always got that great retro electro sound. More retro means more better. Thank you, I love my English as well. I also wondered why they remixed mostly Australian groups, no wonder they're Aussie! More power to the Aussie scene. First remix is of Dirty Secrets . Absolutely love it, highly recommend it. Similar sound for their remix of Faker . And I guess I'll leave off with their remix of Stardust. [...]
W hen Thomas Bangalter (1/2 of daft punk) joined forces with Alan Braxe to produce this track, music definitely sounded a whole lot better. Built around a sample of "Fate" by Chaka Khan "music sounds better with you" became an instant classic and ruled the charts the summer of 1998. This was not only one of the best dance singles of the decade, but may i bluntly say; One of the most important records in dance music, period! Now ten years later, I still hear this track every time I go out. Needless to say, there [...]

Hello and sorry about the significant lack of action in these pages in recent weeks. Uni and footy have both gone back and I have just been busy with lots of stuff. Saying that though, what I do have for you kids is PLENTY of good new music. Starting Off With Some Disco... As you are probably all aware, 2007 was the year of electro. Releases from the genre were being gobbled up like biccies at a kids picnic (or music festival). Outstanding albums from Boys Noize, Justice, [...]
Heard this track so many times on Ski Holiday thought id post it. Song was first created by Stardust, which is Alan Braxe and Thomas Bangalter from Daft Punk. Was re-released on Daft Punks Live Album "Alive 2007". Music Sounds Better With You (Bibi & Dim's Anthem From Paris Mix) Music Sounds ...

Well it's not long now till the official release of the long-long-LONG-awaited Crystal Castles debut full-length on March 18th. I suppose I don't have to convince any of you that's it's going to be absolutely HUGE, and I have every hope in the world that 2008 will be the year of Ethan and Alice. And judging from the phenomenal job that endearingly mysterious duo have done with the album, ranging perfectly from the typically angsty and raw to the disarmingly pretty and soft, I don't think I'll even need to cross my fingers to help that wish come [...]
None of these tracks are really Roulé releases besides the Bob Sinclar Remix, but I figured they should be grouped together for one reason or another. They're all essentials for any collection of house music from this era. First up is " Bob Sinclar's " Gym Tonic. It is my belief and understanding that this White Label track was stolen from Thomas Bangalter, nicely told in the story that follows, which is reprinted from the account by LeDJFaB on the discogs page : Entirely [...]

amazing use of vocabulary that is unheard of nowadays: At first sight the tall, stooped figure with the hawk-like features and bloodless cheeks, the look of extreme gravitas , seems forbidding and austere, the abbot of an ascetic order, scion of an imperial family who has foresworn the world. - John Lehmann, "T.S. Eliot Talks About Himself and the Drive to Create", New York Times [...]

A few weeks ago I posted that fabulous Gameboy/Gamegirl track and I kinda mentioned Miami Horror in passing. At the time I want to do a full post, but I was pressed for time and you know how it goes... Listen to that synth! I keep thinking that if Justice was fun then this is what they'd sound like... no shame. Miami Horror - "Don't Be On With Her" (mp3) "Music Sounds Better" sounds better when Miami Ho' does [...]
