Once a week, on Monday, EAR FARM checks in with the Elbo.ws top 10 hot artists. As this site has always been about music that I believe in, and love, this feature offers a great opportunity for something different; namely, commentary on whatever bands people are seeking out. Next to each 'hot' artist you'll see a brief editorial bit and then a link to a song and source for where the song was found. Enjoy. Elbo.ws top 10 'hot' [...]

Who doesn't love Antarctica? I mean, it's a continent, but it's uninhabited. It's on a pole. They've got penguins. It's home to the Antarctic Treaty System , the first arms control treaty of the Cold War, which required that it be left free of military incursions, to remain a home for scientific exploration and inquiry. And then there's the fantastic " Scott of the Antarctic " sketch by Monty Python. I mean, seriously. Movies of Antarctica - Stars of Track and Field I like movies. [...]

STARS OF TRACK AND FIELD Hailing from Portland, Oregon, Stars of Track and Field have dropped their first full length album, “Centuries Before Love and War†available only on iTunes. Portland, OR The name of this band comes from a Belle And Sebastian tune, but their music doesn't really remind me of B&S at all. Stars Of Track And Field make digital music with a nice sprinkling of guitar rock. Centuries Before Love And War is the band's first full-length and it's available now from Sidecho Records . The guys are currently winding down on a tour that will end back in their hometown for MusicFest NW on September 9. [...]

Stars of Track and Field is a trio from Portland, Oregon that is my new "it" band for today, actually this week and next and maybe longer... I like bands that have the whole "package." Bear with me here... they not only have great music with drum machines and keyboards and guitars and vocals, they have a style. The style that will get them somewhere and everywhere. They have been big over in Oregon/Washington starting in 2005 with their first EP release. Now with their debut album, Centuries Before Love and War I can't help [...]

.................. So this band turns up in my box. I don't know them yet, I listen, I likey. It's that simple. I love a smidgen of electronica in my indie music and I'm a sucker for softly mixed vocals - However, that being said, when I hear someone in possession of a great set of wind pipes - I want to hear them being used..... a "strong finish" so to speak. Stars of Track and Field last year sometime, i was scouring whatever music sites i was into at the moment, and i happened upon an EP by a band that struck me merely because of its fantastic name. an EP is usually a friendly thing by which to get yourself acquainted with a band; You Came Here For Sunset Last Year would prove just the ticket for them to win my full attention. its sonorous explosions of electro rock defied my expectations of what such a [...]
Hey guys. I just got back from Pitchfork and I'm pretty tired. I figure I'll do a little photo resizing and then head to bed. 9AM is a good bedtime, right? Anyways, you can expect regular updates to resume after I wake up. In the mean time, check out Stars ...
