We previously featured " Must Land Running ", the first single from Stepdad's upcoming full-length album, Wildlife Pop , out June 12th through Black Bell Records. Now that same song has been remixed by Bernsden. Bernsden has pulled away the percussion elements and piano keyboard playing of the original and replaced it with '80s inspired synths and mega-echo behind Ultramark's vocals. We told you about Stepdad over a year ago, with their ridiculously wacky video for " My Leather, My Fur, My Nails" , and now after getting many, many more fans the Minnesota band are set to release their debut record, Wildlife Pop, on June 12th. The single from the album, "Must Land Running" is a joyous affair filled with glimmering synths and a full-out message of hope and perseverance. The band have seemingly toned down their weirdness, but have not let go of any of their good times.

There's something oddly hopeful about "Must Land Running," the latest peek at Stepdad 's upcoming full-length, Wildlife Pop . Perhaps it's the track's fluttering synths or the record's whimsical cover, but something about "Must Land Running" demands that you abandon maturity and see the world instead through your inner child's eyes. Formed by roommates ultramark (yes, ultramark) and Ryan McCarthy in Chicago in 2009 and later expanding to a four-person roster for touring purposes, Stepdad is an enormously fun electro-pop band that has released one of the best and most infectious EPs I've heard this year.
