Theophilus London @ Mohawk Theophilus London packed the downstairs room of the Mohawk as part of the Mog/Lexus Party. Theo did an A+ job at engaging not only a kinetic swath of fans but a room, perhaps not so familiar with his music. Bat For Lashes revives Depeche Mode's "Strangelove" in the breathy cover she recorded for the new Gucci Guilty Pour Homme commercial. Directed by Frank Miller (Sin City, 300), the ad stars the steamy Chris Evans and Evan Rachel Wood eliciting 'guilty' behavior with each other. Modern goth goddess Bat for Lashes released a cover of 80's electronic duo Depeche Mode's "Strangelove" for a new line of Gucci cologne. The track is reminiscent of previous work from Bat for Lashes, and the song goes very well with a darker tone than that of its originators, although it retains a certain dance-iness that cemented Depeche Mode pop culture. Expect to hear the song in commercials for the new line of cologne, but for now, you can listen to it over at Spin . -Dorian Blue Mendoza
