Here's a look (and listen) to some records that have been cluttering up our desk and inboxes here at YuppiePunk World HQ. Though none of these titles inspired us to write 3000-word soliloquys, we figured we could at least muster 25 and an MP3. ENEMY YOU - "FADE AWAY" (Nitro) Like their previous two full-lengths, the latest from this San Francisco quartet conjures "No Control"-era Bad Religion with pleasing yet predictable gusto. Enemy You - "Outta Sight" METRIC - "FANTASIES" [...]

I'm a big fan of conspircay theories. I like reading the ridiculously over the top things that people think is happening. I don't believe most of them, but they're an interesting read if you're bored. Like David Icke claiming that the Royal Family, Tony Blair, George Bush and many others are reptilian humanoids. That explains a lot. Obviously one of the most well known conspiracy theories is that of Paul McCartney having died in a car crash and being replaced by a look-alike and sound-alike. I do realize that a certain portion of this blog's readers are mainly indie rock fans that are basically uninterested by these pop punk posts. Whatever. I don't care. These are my roots. Much of this is the kind of music that makes me wanna stand up and shout at the top of my lungs (see Strung Out's Suburban Teenage Wasteland Blues for example) and just be young again. These songs have staying power. Too much of today's indie rock crap is much too forgettable and unexciting. It is [...]
