Arcade Fire continues to steamroll through their post-Grammy win, and this week stopped by Chicago radio station WBEZ to perform stripped-down versions of two songs off The Suburbs that amplifies that childish pain in Win Butler's vocals. The deluxe version of the album will be release August 2, 2011 and will feature two brand new songs that we posted last month - check out the performances of "We Used To Wait" and "Sprawl II" below. Polaris season is upon us once again. A good number of albums have been making lasting impressions since last June, and today the Polaris Music Prize revealed the long list of nominees for this year's award. Forty very talented, very deserving artists were announced, and in the coming weeks the jury will be cutting that down to ten. Since I'm not a member of the jury*, I'm relegated to just running down a wishlist of what my ballot would look like. It's really difficult to narrow it to just five picks, so I can only imagine the kind [...]
Scenes from the suburbs ganhará uma estreia transmitida mundialmente pelo site Mubi [...]
As an extra treat to see out the week here is Mr Little Jeans as she lends some elegant electronic undertone s to the title track from Arcade Fire's 2010 'The Suburbs' masterpiece. Have a good weekend and stay safe. TRACKS:
Summer craziness is starting to ramp up. Take this moment to rock out in one window while you order some music in another. As always, enjoy thoroughly. Suburbs by Mr Little Jeans

Mr. Little Jeans aproveita o clima da sombria continuação de The [...]
After a couple months of teasing us with clips, screen-tests and storyboards, legendary video interlopers Megaforce have finished their video treatment for our next single, The Greeks. Filmed in a sleepy French suburb in god-knows-where, and starring a group of the coolest kids in the cul-de-sac, The Greeks' video reflects the song - it's about [...]

We have already given accolades to Mr. Little Jeans with her debut single, “Rescue Me”, which went on to be featured in Honda commercials Now Monica has released a cover of Arcade Fire’s “The Suburbs”. She adds a haunting, electronic touch to an already pretty depressing song. Check it out.

Mr. Little Jeans , takes on Arcade Fire ’s “The Suburbs” with her own version of this modern classic. She is currently working on her debut, the 'Angel EP' on the 7th June also stream The Naked and Famous' Remix of Mr Little Jean's below via TNAF - Rescue Song (Mr Little Jeans)
Arcade Fire - Culture War by MergeRecords Arcade Fire - Speaking in Tongues (feat. David Byrne) by MergeRecords Shortly after the release of the Suburbs , which was LOVED , Merge is gearing up to put out a deluxe version of the album . I know this practice isn't unorthodox, but I still belong to a camp that believes deluxe versions of albums are better released when we've had 10 or [...]

The Norwegian Monica Birkenes is Mr. Little Jeans . She took her name from a character in Wes Anderson 's film Rushmore , which is about an eccentric teenage schoolboy falling in love with his teacher. Her vocals are soft, sultry, deep but at the same time poppy enough to grab the attention of the mass. Her depute album will be released sometime in the end of this year. But til then you can enjoy her EP and some other tracks. This one is a very interesting cover of Arcade Fire's Suburbs . Check it out! [...]

Take a listen to the unreleased new tune from Arcade Fire, which also features David Byrne. The song is called “Speaking in Tongues” and is taken off the deluxe edition of The Suburbs out August 2.
Listen to two previously unreleased tracks from the Canadians to mark the launch of The Suburbs' Deluxe CD/DVD Package. I'm yet to make up mind as to the merit of 'Deluxe' albums, however Arcade Fire's is dropping in August and because of that we get 2 spanking new tracks, so it can't all be that bad. Either of these two offerings could slot nicely into 20102s The Suburbs ' original tracklisting, with Culture War sounding like a cynical older brother to the record's title track. Speaking in [...]

After Arcade Fire had one of the best years a band could possibly ask for in 2010, they are to have another huge run in 2011. They are planning a re-release deluxe edition of The Suburbs featuring two new songs. “Speaking in Tongues” is the band’s collaberation with David Byrne and is quite dark. “Culture War” is a jumpy, incredibly emotional song and I can’t fathom why this didn’t make the record. Win’s melodies near of the end of the track are breathtaking. As wonderful as The Suburbs was, this would have easily been in my top 3 songs off [...]
In case you had forgotten, it was almost exactly a year ago when Arcade Fire started secretly dropping 12″ vinyl singles in record stores around the world. That was “The Suburbs”/”Month Of May,” and served as the starting point for what would later become the year of Arcade Fire. With the release of The Suburbs , the band began to dominate record sales charts, headline festivals, win Grammys (much to the chagrin of America), and generally rise to a level of fame and accomplishment not often associated with independent artists. Now [...]
