Last summer before the release of my latest album " Jonestown " I did a grand campaign with Swedish MySpace. During 12 weeks I performed all of the 12 songs from my album, with 12 different Swedish artists. I released a new video on MySpace each week. Well it's Wednesday today and I've collected all of my friends videos and are throwing a party with you all on my videopage . I've decided to call it the "Sofiapalooza". Why? According to the Urban Dictionary the word Palooza means : [...]

Phish will then close the festival [...]
Note, in particular, the low for Thursday. --------- The Jimi Hendrix Experience "Electric Ladyland" is available from .

There have been a few songs that, on the first hearing, the sudden realisation that what I was listening to was so good, so head-spinningly wonderful, so new , that I've stopped whatever I'm doing just to listen, in a happy music-coma. Off the top of my head, five of the songs that have lead to this are: Temptation by New Order Common People by Pulp Bigmouth Strikes Again by The Smiths [...]

You Don't Wanna Play Around, You Don't Wanna Play Around, You Don't Wanna Play Around with MEEEEE !! NO MORE, I'LL KILL YOUUU!!!! (c) 'ol Cease-A-Leo Random Ass Story Time! I remember when this came out back in the Summer of '99. I just got out of the 7th grade. Lil Cease's album just dropped at the time and I was in some record store at the mall. I recall havin' enough money to either buy said album, or get a Gamepro mag haha (shut [...]

Ahhh. Another week, another hour long PSA of what a bad father can do to a daughter. Now I gotta be honest, for some reason my cable box decided not to record Rock of Love this week and by the time I noticed we'd missed the first 8 minutes or so. When we turned it on, Bret was in a hockey rink and the girls were just entering. Turns out that this week's challenge is a slight variation of last season's "save Brett's baby, rollerderby challenge". See, Brett needs a woman who'll be able to take care of and be [...]
Like This Blog And America, There's Change Our good pal Brandon has a blog. He mainly writes about books and films he's seen, but lately he's been putting up some good photos. This one is our fav and makes us...

I know what's going on I know how you going on I got the Ra Ra go ahead and throw the ball Cause Bingo, now I'm hittin' a six... Mike Hussey 's got nothing on my special lady friend. 'Twas a stellar weekend filled with sunshine, beach cricket, barbecues and friends. It's weekends like this that remind me why we moved down here. I'm back into manic mode at work, so I'll leave you [...]

Everything from Bless Homme 's Spring/Summer Collection is wearable. I like how they are baggy or tight in the right places.

There are probably more Australians living in Britain than there are living in Australia*. In parts of London, it's almost impossible to buy a coffee or order a meal without being met with that nasal Aussie twang. One of the things that I found strange is that, among an incredibly pale people, the Colonials (as the English so charmingly refer to nationals of their former empire - including Americans) were exceptional in their sallowness. Why on earth would people hailing from one of the sunniest places on earth not take advantage of Blighty's two to three sunny days a year [...]

I wasn't planning to post today, but I couldn't abide looking at the photo of those McDonald's kids at the top of my page all weekend long. Not only, as Alice pointed out, is it basically child abuse but one of my big fears as a parent. So, here's some photos of summer in Oz with my own little summertime cowboy. [...]

(art by Erin Cadigan ) Phish announced a Summer tour this morning (with skywriting planes, see video here ) and it includes a stop in Noblesville, IN at the Verizon Music Center (outside of Indianapolis) on June 19, 2009 (a Friday). It is only a two hour trip from Louisville and people watching at these shows is almost as much fun as the show itself. There are also rumors that they will be playing at Bonnaroo. Could be interesting! More details below... "Phish will perform ten concerts this coming June. The [...]

Just to keep things interesting, someone(s) in southern California took to the sky today skywriting "PHISH SUMMER TOUR 2009." Several people have reported seeing skywriting in multiple forms across the Los Angeles area. Prelude to Hollywood Bowl dates being announced tomorrow? Check out HaniHood's album here .

New stuff from Jason Schwartzman's heroic indie-pop project, Coconut Records . The first disc filled a great empty gap in my summer listens of 2007 and this one, the Davy LP (aww), will most likely do the same when it drops in a few weeks. For now, scope out Microphone. Discovered by Animal Collective while recording their new album, Dent May's smooth summery swing pop debut is due for release in Feb on Animal Collective's Paw Tracks label. Another good summer tune, it's like a slow cruise down the river into a gold sunset. Reminds me in shades of Bobby Darin, and that can only be a good thing. MP3: Dent May & His Magnificent Ukulele - Meet Me In The Garden

I was going to have a scintillating post for you today about sex, Neanderthals and genocide but for some bizarre reason my employers wanted me to work at work today. Madness. It's Friday evening and the week is done* and the forecast for the weekend makes me think you won't be seeing anything about Cro-Magnon man until Monday at the earliest. I'm beginning to see the advantage of having Christmas in the summer time. Barring a late run, it looks as if Arizaphale has successfully used her questionable tactics to [...]

Other than the absolute scenic beauty of this atoll with a heart shaped island in the middle, it boasted the best snorkling and scuba diving spot I have ever seen. Lush corals surround it and then a sudden dip into the india ocean. The fish aren't scared and will come really close to you. The trumpet fish are huge and the Napoleons will brush up against you lazily. The corals are like rainbows and the species are endless. To top it all off, we went to another side of the atoll and swam with wild dolphins. It was an exquisite [...]
