
Say hello to your new favourite Space rock band. Say hello to Sunken Seas hailing from Wellington, New Zealand. With influences that range from Stereolab, Bailter Space, Children's Hour, Medicine, The Fall, Neu!, Seefeel, Black Sabbath, The Dead C, Sonic Youth and much more. They seamless merge the fusion of sounds into something magical. Something great. They are just finishing off their debut album and are organising an Australasian release tour. Slug Guts Flying Through Space New(ish) Wellington trio Sunken Seas step out with a post-rock/pop number, combining the noisier moments of Secret Knives (think 'Black Hole') with the ricocheting guitar sound of Spacemen 3. It's a little bit Flying Nun too, with HDU and Bailter Space having an obvious influence on the band, and there's a hint of British indie rockers The Horrors in the bass lines. Back in August 2010 we featured a track by New Zealand post punk band Tiddabadés . A year and a bit has passed, and formed from the ashes of that band is Sunken Seas .
