Gruff Rhys , a “figura” central do Super Furry Animals , lançou o clipe de Honey All Over .

About 30 seconds into his criminally underattended small-club gig in Vancouver (Canucks hockey, summer day, early show), Gruff Rhys is making everyone laugh. The scruffy furry animal from the Super Furry Animals cracked wise about how the show will unfold: that he will be play some songs, and he hopes that everyone can figure out where he is. He is the only one on stage. "I'm over here, under the light, by the piano" and says that he'll later be joined by the guys in his opening act, Welsh band Y Niwl , and they [...]

Artist: Gruff Rhys Video: Honey All Over The latest effort from Super Furry Animal frontman Gruff Rhys is a jaunty reminder of just how great a songwriter this chap is. It's catchy, summery and comes complete with a video of Gruff donning a Bee Keeper outfit and looking a little shifty. I like it a lot. Check it out here:

One cold New York City night in January 2009, I found myself in the back room of the Bowery Poetry Club, encircled by the typical PBR-wielding twenty-somethings and some of the most magical music I’ve ever encountered. By wandering in to find shelter from the shivering chill, I had unknowingly stumbled upon the EP release [...]

If you're already a fan of Gruff Rhys then you've probably picked up his wonderful latest solo album Hotel Shampoo, you've heard the heartwarming 'Shark Ridden Waters' and 'If We Were Words (We Would Rhyme)'. If not, no need to worry, there is plenty of time to. While in Vienna earlier in the year the Super [...]

Check out another new track from Super Furry Animals' frontman Gruff rhys titled "Xenodocheionology." The track is set to be relesed on May23rd as the B-Side Rhys' recent single " Honey All Over " from his recently released album Hotel Shampoo . Take a listen to the track in full courtesy of NME . Fun fact: "xenodocheionology" describes a person's love of hotels or inns. I wonder why Gruff chose that as a title name? ;)
While this is not an entirely new track, it is a nice little gem to come across. From the 12" single of "Shark Ridden Waters" comes this vinyl-exclusive b-side, "I Totally Understand" from Gruff Rhys . The single was released back in November 2010 and was UK-only. His latest release, Hotel Shampoo is now available everywhere. He's also going to be hitting the road this summer. Tour dates are after the jump! Gruff Rhys - "I Totally Understand" by Some [...]

Record label EMI published the results today of a charity auction it held earlier this month to raise money for tsunami relief funds in Japan. There was plenty of interesting material to be had, although it was, of course, all well out of our price range – but if you happened to have a spare $10k sitting around, you could have snapped up signed copies of David Bowie’s full back catalog, while $6,744 would have gotten you Billy Corgan’s handmade “Zero” t-shirt. The news got us thinking about other band paraphernalia we’d love to get our hands on [...]

Some songs have anthemic choruses about anthemic subjects, like growing up or escaping to the mythic highway (and sitting in mythic traffic). And some are about laying on the couch, being sick and watching Dutch TV. Which in Songblague's opinion, does not diminish the effect one bit. Not to be cynical. It's just the sound itself that's of first importance. Special Two'fer Tuesday — an outro with an awesome synth line and tip of the hat to Prince.
Super Furry Animals is a unique specimen with an insurmountable catalog of trippy alternative. Its leading Welshman, Gruff Rhys (who may be a front-runner for coolest first name ever, next to Ozzy), has now bounded from his band's fold thrice with the installment of his newest solo outing, Hotel Shampoo . The man named his album after a compulsion to hoard single-serving soaps from hotels whilst on tour, which is either totally "rock star", or the dumbest thing any rock star has done to his homes away from home. Well, at least Rhys' resulting record [...]

Back in November , Super Furry Animals frontman Gruff Rhys announced he'd be dropping his next solo album, Hotel Shampoo , on Valentine's Day. What he didn't mention, however, was that he had yet to score a release date for North America. So while lovers Stateside still have to wait till May 3rd for the LP, they can rejoice in the fact that Rhys will be hitting our wondrous continent for a string of tour dates in May and June. With a European tour going on through March 19th, Rhys will hit North [...]

A finely balanced tightrope walk along the line of smiley happy pop and indie rock this week, courtesy of the charismatic lead singer of Welsh niche legends Super Furry Animals . Gruff Rhys is a man with a flair for both a catchy tune and entertaining the audience, so the video that accompanies new song Sensations In The Dark is an haphazard collection [...]
