There was to be a fourth thing, but as yet he knew nothing of it. The affair with Agnieszka bothered him not because he felt guilty about Basia, his wife—though he did feel guilty—but because Agnieszka's poetry was notorious for its candor and explicitness. Every year produced a new slim volume in which the slimness was inversely proportionate to the indiscretion. Piotr wrote poetry himself, less prolifically and more guardedly. He had written poems about his affair with Agnieszka, but his way with pathetic fallacy meant that even Basia could read them without guessing their true provenance. The [...]

Melodramatic pop music slingers and seven-piece German juggernaut Super700 released their record Lovebites back in February to a sort of quiet embrace and they'll be settingn off on a home country tour of it starting on April 24. The group, behind singer Ibadet Ramadani's ridiculously honeyed vocal coo, create a sort of emotionally charged downtempo pop in the vein of mid-career Goldfrapp and maybe a teensy bit of M83. It's all sorts of moody and dark, just the way we like it. (mp3) Super700 - Tango Godspeed!
Lovebites is the new album from German 7-piece Super 700. The band uses electronic enhancements and orchestral flairs atop a traditional rock set-up to build ambient aural landscapes. Nowhere is this more obvious than on "The Fortuneteller", with its electronic pulse driving a ghostly melody. Many of these tracks, like on the cold Citizen Kane-esque "Rosebud" are framed to convey a sense of

There's a secret alchemy at work within every good band, an equation that never quite reveals itself, but works in the background to keep the music special, vibrant and vital. The clandestine calculus that has blessed Super 700 certainly has something to do with lead singer Ibadet Ramadani , a strikingly beautiful siren, capable of vocally caroming from Beth Orton fragility, to Tori Amos richness, to PJ Harvey ferocity within moments. But without the band - Ibadet's sisters Albana and Ilirjana singing the harmonies, Johannes Saal on guitar, Simon Rauterberg on keyboard, Michael Haves on [...]

If there is one band that truly knows their sound and how to capitalize it, Berlin's Super 700 might just be it. With eerie and epic rock noises flowing in every direction throughout the bands new album, "Lovebites", Super 700 is sure to spread its viral bites of love across the ocean from Germany to the American cult-fans of bands like M83 and Goldfrapp. The number 700 is a sacred number. The hidden temple has 700 entries, there are 700 sins, 700 famous mountains and the legend of the 700 spices of [...]

usually German radio is as bad as German rock bands. We can't wait: Internet radio in all cars = death of shitty corporate radio stations. Support good radio whenever you can! in berlin we love radio....we just love it... when you watch German TV, it's like seeing grass grow...so uninspiring, so bad.... DJ Diana Frankovic keeps banging out one great program after the other! while too many radio DJs think too local in this city and hardly use their imagination, she puts together a great selection of tracks. Our opinion is: forget about the computer generated playlists - anyone can load up a bunch of mp3s, call it internet radio station..... important is the personality which drives a [...]

I got a CD in the mail the other day, it was the self-titled debut album from German band super700 . I didn't know what to expect, for although I do know their label MotorMusic , I hadn't actually heard of them. But I'm glad to say that I do now. Their sound is, in a way, what I expect from an alternative German band, sorta rough and different, and with a few electronic elements here and there. The real kicker, though, is the voice of singer Ibadet Ramadani. She makes all the difference. [...]
