Track Of The Day: Superhumanoids - "Geri" I loaded up my iPod with song submissions and went for a long walk this morning. As it began to rain this wonderful track "Geri" from Superhumanoids came on and definitely put a confident pep in my step. I admire tracks like this because of the way they balance art and fun. The male vocals are deep and serious while synths burst during the chorus accompanied by uplifting female vocals. Superhumanoids: Geri + Malta When I hear the name "Superhumanoids", I first think of a stereotypical Daft Punk presence , but as I listen to "Geri" and "Malta", I start to see a dance-party robocop , hovering over a synthesizer, Thom Yorke indie head-spasm dancing with every note. Side note: I am only on coffee at this present moment. In 2011, the L.A. dream-poppers dropped two appetizers, "Malta" and "Mikelah," as they continued work on their full-length album (now done, we hear), and this morning the band anchored by Cameron Parkins, Sarah Chernoff and Max St. John unveiled unveiled another single, "Geri," as they announced spring touring plans with Class Actress, Cold War Kids and Active Child.
