This is a great event happening in The Mercantile this coming Saturday. All 5 bands are excellent and there's lots of prizes to be won. Yesterday, the final five for the Meteor Music Awards' Most Promising New Artist 2010 were announced. If you followed the voting at all, you would have seen that there were about ten well-known acts and then a bunch of people you've never heard of. Now, don't get me wrong, this wasn't a bad idea, but the fact that it was a public-voting thing meant that whoever could draw in the most votes on facebook or bebo got through.
