Last night I was excited to see that Nicole Atkins was scheduled to play on Later Live...with Jools Holland . A few months ago I was lucky to have had the opportunity to interview Nicole Atkins over the phone - and then the next day to watch her play an intimate show at the Soho Review Bar in London. I was able to see first hand what a talent she was and knew then that she had the 'full package' to reach out to many, many more people - with her excellent songs, [...]

Get yourself over to that man Sway Dasafo's myspace and grab this freestyle for yourself, taint really a freestyle and is probably all the more better for that! He chats about shopping his music round loads of US labels and not getting anywhere with them. Hope they kick themselves pretty hard sometime soon. 'Go Hard' is Sway back on fine form and showing support for some of the more Hip Hop Grime acts floating around in the UK nowadays. [...]

Sway's musical magic will be beamed into the front room of millions next week thanks to a performance on the BBC's flagship music programme Later With Jools Holland. Sway's debut on the show will see him ably assisted by fellow North-Londoner Lemar for a live version of current single Saturday Night Hustle . Later airs live at 10.00pm on Tuesday, and again at 11.35pm on Friday. Sway is also set to return to the live domain in full effect with the UK dates listed below. The shows will be the first chance to [...]
Here's the video to Sway's poptastic new track, the lead single from the forthcoming 'Signature LP' ("out very soon", or so he said in January!). It features Lemar, pretty much the UK's biggest male R'n'B voice and it'll be criminal if this doesn't find itself pumping through housewives' radios up and down old Blighty. If you get mixed up whilst you watch the video, Lemar is the one with thinner eyes. Remember Sway's lyric on 'Harvey Nicks' by The Mitchell Brothers? "A little girl with a pen ran up to me and said I know who you are//But [...]
its all a bit too craig david.... it'll probably do well, very radio friendly. oh oh oh. edit. this is more like it... f ur x not quite sure how i missed this one album out september 8th. kanye and akon both producing some tracks

Twang's back again ('…Although I never left, I'm takin' my seat back//Back with a spring in my step, back in my element…') with his fourth album release, fifth if you count the never-released-due-to-label-pr oblems, promo only 'Dettwork SouthEast'. 'Speaking From Xperience' is an aptly named volume of work, and a hefty tome at that. Frankly, I recoil at the thought of reviewing an album with 18 tracks proper (24 counting skits). How can I possibly listen to that much music and assess it all at once? 'Tis pretty hard, but I've started now haven't I? As usual Mr. Rotton [...]

First one comes courtesy of Organised Mess , a collective of Hip Hoppers from Leeds. It features some great, actual top notch UK rap tunes from the likes of Blessed House, Jester J , Fourny P and Corkhill . I truly had an enjoyable time listening to this Yorkshire beauty - especially the tracks from Jester J - ee's a right japester. UK hiphops kingpin returns with his second full length effort. . .Lets hope he got the beats this time, cause lyrically he's untouchable. Interview at RWD
Perfecto. [...]

DJ Revolution said it best in a recent interview, "the connection between the DJ and the emcee has been severed. " King of The Decks " is my attempt at reconnecting it." Revolution did just that with his new album, as he brought together some of the most talented names in Hip Hop today, who not only produce quality music, but also respect the craft of the DJ Culture. Revolution has spent 15 years perfecting that craft on the turntables. He's currently behind the wheels of the longest running Hip Hop show in the history [...]
Sway - Blackberries Just like most other types of music I listen to, I'm pretty picky when it comes to country (or alt country or no depression or whatever else you wanna call it). In fact, I don't like much country at all and if I do, it usually has an old-timey feeling to it or is influenced by folk as well. Occasionally, though, a band comes along and changes the way you think about a particular genre. Sway [...]
-- Attention has been called to this all - ready , but this beat...this beat... ( scorcher built it) eskiboy - class of 07 (prod. by scorcher) 320k 3mb Wiley: "I was the first one / I'll be the last one" -- Sway also has a new mixtape - its going for free . He does a vocal on Bashy's ' Black Boys ' beat which has been all over radio since last summer. Sway shouts out a whole host [...]

So I haven't managed to get my hands on this and as far as I know it will be available on Sway's myspace page next week. Fingers crossed then. Here are two bits gleaned from his myspace page: 'You'll Get Over It' - An 'I Luv U' style track but over amuch bouncier beat. Jukey - 'The Way We Go' ft. Sway (Preview) - A dance (don't ask me genre, I really don't have a clue) track with Sway's vocals, sounds big and fun.
I completely missed shoegaze, ten going on eleven when the genre was at its height I had more important things to listen to at the time. Growing up in middle of nowhere Pennsylvania and like most kids my age, grunge had the largest musical impact on me, thanks in large part to MTV. I still remember in sixth grade we had "bring a song" to music class day. Nearly everyone in class had the same cassettes; Nirvana's Nevermind , Soundgarden's Badmotorfinger , or Pearl Jam's Ten . Sure, not everyone had a [...]
The Daysleepers // Threnody Here's a really pleasant New York dreampop shoegaze band. It's really easy listening. They are more alternative rock sounding. This song is off of their E.P. called Hide Your Eyes. [ website ] Sway // Days (Reprise) Another hazy sounding track from a California band. [ claire's echo ] My Bloody Valentine - Cigarette [...]
When a person experiences great change, the event often totally interrupts ones life, one is likely to turn to a variety of devices in an attempt to overcome the event (i.e. lots and lots of liqour, emo music, crack, whores, crack whores, etc). I turned to a variety of things. Here is a mixtape of emotionally invigorating music and other nonsense. This weeks playlist. Pond PA - If you live
