I'm excited to share a new song by Sylvie Lewis. The London-born, Italy-based singer-songwriter will release her third studio album, It's All True, on June 19th. Her beautiful sophomore record, Translations, was on my Top Albums of 2007 list, so I have high expectations for the followup. "The Song I Sang Before I Met You" [...]

Starsong by Sylvie Lewis You have got to love her.

folk // jazz // singer-songwriter Exposed to music at an early age, a graduate of prestigious Berklee School of Music, London-born and Rome-based Sylvie Lewis displays a sweet, clear voice and remarkably literate songwriting skills. Musically, Sylvie's charming style varies from simple folk melodies to the subtle and sophisticated arrangements. Vocally, it ranges from the light-hearted to the moody crooning. "Starsong... What Became Of Us", an opening track from her latest album Translations (2007), captures the ears for its appealing, catchy vocal lines and Sylvie's clever, warm phrasing. [...]

If Starbucks ever got a hold of this Sylvie would be the next Norah Jones, Amos Lee and Aimee Mann all rolled up into one. Sylvie's new record, [...]
Can anyone argue that getting told 'I love you' feels better than anything in the world? Maybe coming in a close second would be a warm embrace, but words, specifically those words, are magical. I've only been to New York City twice, but each time I go I fall deeper in love with it. The last time I was there (this January), I never wanted to leave. Each time I took the train to Manhattan, I had this song on my headphones. Downtown trains are full of all those Brooklyn girls. [...]
