"Crew Love" might be on a Drake album, but this song is truly defined by the ethereal sexuality that has come to be the watermark of Abel Tesfaye's sonic persona, The Weeknd. That doesn't mean that Drake's verses don't contribute to this track's strengths. In fact, his nasal and conversational rhyming both clash with and compliment Tesfaye's vocals perfectly, creating two ontological spaces on "Crew Love"-the one in your head and the one that your crew sees. It's a song about the public and private self, and, more importantly, the battle that ensues between those two identities.
Take Care has taken over my rotation as of late, and rightfully so. To celebrate the release a bit more, Star Slinger adds his two cents to the opening track of the album, "Over My Dead Body". While the original is more minimalist, Slinger speeds things up with crisps drums and some fresh vocal effects. Take Care is available now!
Childish Gambino vs Drake by Drake Lelane I love it when Drake reviews his namesake. -ed. Drake's Take: New Releases 11.15.11 Two actors-turned-rappers face off in this week's new releases, with Drake's nuanced sophomore release dropping the same day as Donald Glover's full length debut as Childish Gambino. Both rappers try to shrug off being called 'oreo' from certain circles in hip-hop, both having mostly grown up in white environs, both releases address, in some matter, [...]

Ello Ello Ello TQF. Another dose of Any Given Saturday. Woo! I'm pretty exicted about this one, because a lot was released this week. A LOT of music was released, but I'm not complaining ya know? The month of November was a great month for music. Me and my friend Jehan were talking about how November was crazy because Wale started the month out on a good note with Ambition . Then Drake and Childish Gambino made it just an incredible month with their albums. Shout out to [...]

I know you don't love me. Star Slinger speeds shit up and swags shit out to the opening track off of the best rap album of the year. Follow me @OceanPdestrians . Drake - Over My Dead Body (Star Slinger Jetlag Edit) by Star Slinger

After I heard it, my heart stopped. That was it. That was what I anticipated for over a year. It was the hip-hop soundtrack to the film Titanic . It was basically the perfect R&B album, but stuck with a hip-hop label. Aubrey “Drake” Graham said Thank Me Later with an incredible debut and we all did. Now with his sophomore release of Take Care -that is exactly what I want to say as I leave this album at the bottom of my pile of disappointments. [...]

Drake - Take Care By Joe Bates Aubrey ' Drake ' Graham occupies a very singular space in the music business, straddling the rap and alternative world through both the music he releases and the company he keeps. Comfortably one of the biggest names in the rap world, comfortable on the blockbuster tracks that this position entails, his own music indicates a broader approach than many of his contemporaries. The combination of his lyricism, which highlights insecurities, misgivings and doubts in a way that no other mainstream rapper would admit [...]

Aubrey is probably the easiest target in hip-hop. The wimpy kid that all the bullies pick on just because, even none bullies will give him a wedgie or a wet willie for no true reason. Since i enjoy his emo music when the sun goes down i try not to participate in the slander but sometimes you come across something so genius it blows your mind. This literally blew me away, just LOOK AT IT. If you are the creator please own up to your work of art. Bonus: Take Sh*t
Amazon.com Following its official Nov. 15 release, Drake 's sophomore album 'Take Care' is expected to fly off the shelves in droves during its first week. It is estimated that a whopping 675,000 - 725,000 copies of 'Take Care' will be sold this week, even despite the album's unauthorized leak onto the internet over a week ahead of schedule. The estimate, courtesy of industry trade publication Hits Daily Double , makes Drake a shoe-in for the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart next [...]

On Drake's latest album, the Canadian rapper and singer embraces what makes him unique, and sounds great doing it. There is a noticeable hunk of filler on this LP, though. WATCH THE REVIEW
The rap star expertly side-steps the sophomore jinx
Aubrey Graham's sophomore album Take Care is arguably the biggest record release of the year. The Toronto native is coming off one of the more impressive stints in recent memory - seemingly having a feature on any and every Billboard smash you can think of. On the hype scale for 2011 hip-hop albums, I think it's only fair to say that this is right up there with Watch The Throne and the highly underwhelming Tha Carter IV. Sure, people love to rip on Drake for being from Canada, being too emotional, starring on Degrassi, and wearing unbelievably obnoxious sweaters. That's all fair game. [...]

In the cover article, Drake explains to writer (and former J. Cole roommate) Damien Scott that the reason he can't do the interview at his apartment is he's having an 'experience shower' installed. “It’s a shower that’s lit by all LED lights. It has 10 jets, an overhead, and it sprays out lavender or whatever scents you want. It’s something I’ve always wanted,” he explains. This is odd. Considering most of Drake's music focuses on his adversion to everything awesome, like his lavish lifestyle and static cling towards females with fake asses, you'd assume YMCMB's [...]

Here goes a track that didn't make it on Drake's album, Take Care . "Hate Sleeping Alone", is a so - so track in that the beat isn't overwhelming and it consist of Drake, "simping" on another track. Check it out and let us know how you feel about this one. play pause [...]

Toronto's finest R&B exports, Abel Tesfaye and Aubrey Drake Graham, come together to bring us this industriously dreamy lament to groupie perseverance. Look out for this one on Drake's forthcoming release " Take Care " which also features an appearance from UK notable, Jamie xx , on the album's title track. “ Thank Me Later was a rushed album. I didn’t get to take the time that I wanted to on that record… that’s why my new album is called Take Care , because I get to take my time this go-round.” This statement, made by Aubrey Drake Graham back in January 2011 , finds the most successful rapper in the world since Kanye West expressing dissatisfaction with a disc that Rolling Stone and Complex named the [...]
