Regardless of what side of Lee County you set your allegiance or which color lucky underwear you wear on game day, let's all remind ourselves about what the whole 'Hullabaloo' is about in the first [...]

Although we're not ones to blow our own collective trumpet, we have to admit to feeling pretty chuffed after our special Love:Live Music show at the Mercantile on Dame Street last Friday night. With the venue packed full of State readers, writers and friends, the three bands did us proud. Take The Money & Run proved that their status as one of our Faces Of 2010 was very much deserved, while The Cast Of Cheers blew us away with a short set of pure brilliance. The fact that they've only played a handful of live dates so [...]

Give us a bit of history of the band. It kind of started when I met Sarah at a trad session. We used to play in céili [...]

It was six months ago that State first stumbled across Take The Money And Run in their second home of the Spirit Store in Dundalk, eventually running out of winners of the battle of the bands that we had found ourselves judging. Their reward was time in the venue's Tumbleweed Studio, the results of which are due to see the light of day this spring in their shape of their debut EP. Branching out from their Blondie influenced power pop origins to explore the delights of a more bipolar approach - including strings, pianos, flutes, cornets and even [...]
