Those Belgian Bass monsters Herrmutt Lobby have put together a digitally dubbed out Mega-hop beat bashing mash down of marvelousness, with this new mix to launch their album alongside worthy LA wordsmith Non (aka Non Diagetic from Shadow Huntaz ) with whom they've previously collaborated on Vampires , the stand out track from their Bassfudge Powerscones EP on Eat Concrete . Take After realeasing numerous sucessful EP's on labels like Buttermilk, Poobah, Swedish Brandy, and Astro Lab, and working/remixing artists like Daedelus (Ninja Tune), Caural( Chocolate Industries, Mush), Rednose Distrikt ( Rush Hour), TAKE drops his Long Awaited full length. " Earthtones & Concrete " is 18 tracks that further blur the line between instrumental Hip Hop and Outer Space. " These songs are nothing short of epic journeys, continuously evolving compositional collages that lead the listener down a dust covered road of bit-crushed melodies and molested jazz samples. Think Brian Eno meets J Dilla.. "Take makes music [...]

One of our firm favourites of the West Coast downtempo Glitch-hop brigade Take (aka Sweatson Klank ) has just dropped a new mixtape on The New Worck to wet our appetites for his new mix CD Sweatson's Trajectory that should be dropping in early May . This mix keeps away from the digital Hip-hop sound that Take is known for and digs a little deeper into his (crates and) [...]

Musique Large . Home to Fulgeance , Debruit , this beautiful Take mix. And an annoying web player that tries to blow my speakers out every time I visit. But let's not dwell. Or rather, lets dwell on one of the many positives. Today, although slightly delayed on it, is the day that I pass on this brilliant mix from the man TAKE . a. K. a Sweatson Klank A lot of people try and give lessons in beats, but only few do it right. Use [...]

I often walk around Soho wondering what is going on behind the scenes - do businessman actually get any after stumbling several tequillas in excess and loose-tied into an establishment of loose morals? (I hear said loose morals mostly apply to the shafting you get on the price of drinks.) In fact, if the band/collective Tunng 's history is anything to go by, it's more likely that Soho is harbouring little gems of musical genius in its dark and musty basements - their life started in a basement studio beneath a clothes shop in Soho. Tunng's sound [...]

Image from Sexy People . I've been listening to loads of tunes from electronic beatmakers; the likes of Zomby, Samiyam, Flying Lotus, Joker, Take and other headswirling instrumental music. It's represented here. Pay special attention to 2000F's robotic g-funk anthem. It'll stick to the inside of your brain. Worth noting is that The Long Lost is Daedelus and his wife Laura Darlington and they've an album dropping soon. Also, frantic nostalgic buzz at the end 2000F - You Don't Know What Love is [...]

How they thought this was single-worthy is beyond me.

It's off to the circus for Britney Spears' children. The pop star took to her blog Monday to knock down a report that her upcoming two-month tour was in trouble because of a snag over whether she could travel with her two boys. "Both Sean Preston and Jayden James will, in fact, be joining Britney throughout the duration of her tour," says Spears's blog. [...]

The occasionally reliable NME is reporting that Britney Spears' Circus has so far sold 24,000 copies, leaving the album in third place out of the gate. The Killers are hanging on to second place n their second week out, but the real success story is the new Take That disc—titled The Circus —which has the biggest first-day sales of 2008. Yes, even more than Coldplay. Those figures are courtesy of the band's management, so it should be taken with a grain of salt, but the idea that Take That might possibly have England's [...]

Adem is a Turkish-English musician from South London. He's had a number of releases on Domino Records , the most recent being Takes , a collection of covers completely transformed by this wonderfully pleasant singer songwriter. On Takes , Adem plays songs by Bedhead, PJ Harvey, Tortoise, Yo La Tengo, and The Breeders and restructures them into introspective, stripped down "nu-folk" tales. The highlight for me is this beautifully laid back version of Pinback's Loro. Enjoy. Photograph by Jason Evans mp3: Adem - Loro (Pinback Cover)
Kardamoon is a trip to the Eastern civilization so make sure you buckle up your seatbelt! It takes nearly two minutes for the beat to drop in 'Kardamoon.' Before that moment, Jan Driver slowly drives us towards a Turkish bazaar where one lonely horn blasts its droning melody over some hand drums. Finally, a digital beat takes [...]
