"The Finger" (I like cellphone cameras. Soon they'll have the same status as lomo cameras. In ten years, the hipsters will search eBay for cheap Sony Ericssons, because they love all the the 'personal pix') Yesterday, Futurecop! and Familjen did a great gig at Betong here in Oslo. Futurecop! started off with a mind-blowing nu-disco set. Familjen played some new tunes and 'Familjen's new sister' Ninsun Poli did some killing female vocals. And today, I think spring has officially arrived here in Norway too. I'm kind of happy. [...]

I have been doing light investigation on the subject of 8bit music, also referred to as "chiptunes". While Tally Isham's sound is not strictly "chiptunes", it incorporates a lot of the important elements. Recently, Houston's Squincy Jones released a mix called "Nintendub" which was influenced by hiphop and Nintendo. GvsB also covered a release yesterday about chiptunes. Tuesday, March 3rd, Futurecop! will be hitting Chicago's Empty Bottle , along with Theophilus London and Rainbo Video, on their way out west before they will ultimately end up at SXSW and the WMC in Miami. Some of you on the East Coast and up in Canada might have just seen their gig in the past week. Another group trailblazing dance music gazing through a rear-view mirror, Futurecop! are known for easy-going, 80's era dance music and I'm expecting a pretty awesome set. And that flier is awesome. Finally, I'm all caught up on life right now. So what does that mean? It means I get to tend to your ears and share this amazing music I've recently found. It's nothing heavy and I doubt you can not like these songs even if you tried. I generally download 20-30 songs on the daily and sift through the good and the bad. Through thick and thin and from horrible to great, here is the great. A little taste of what's been grabbing my attention. Enjoy! [See post to stream audio] The Empires - Howl (Gods [...]

Futurecop! is currently giving us some remixes of their tracks to support their North American tour and EP. I'll be posting more remixes in the upcoming weeks. Heres a remix by Tally Isham : Futurecop! – NASA (Tally Isham remix)

Tally Isham is the virtual popstar of your dreams. She grew up and studied astrophysics in Scotland, moving to Texas to work at NASA Johnson Space Center in the early 80's. She enjoyed deep sea diving and motorcycle racing before a fatal explosion at the center in 1983. Her image was reborn in the sea of information and she continues to accumulate and augment digital information for your satisfaction. Tally Isham - Makeout Sesh [ YSI ]
