By Cassandra Paiva It's been six years in the making, but Tally Hall's second studio album "Good & Evil" is finally available. First track "Never Meant to Know" kicks off the album with a space sounding, swirling piano and talk of earth and human knowledge. This contradicts second track "&" in both sound and lyrical topic. The layers of "&" are what make the sound distinct, with the backing vocals filling in the "ands" and the guitar and drum...

Su publicación está prevista para el 21 de Junio a través de Quack Records, lo que supone la vuelta a un sello independiente después de haber pasado por Atlantic. "You and Me" es [...]

It has been nearly half a decade since Tally Hall first dropped their arcade-inspired debut effort, 20052s Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum , but the five piece have rediscovered their pop sensibilities and color-coded neckties for their forthcoming summer release, GOOD & EVIL . After splitting ways with Atlantic records, who re-released Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum in 2008, Joe Hawley (Red Tie), Zubin Sedghi (Blue Tie), Rob Cantor (Yellow Tie), Ross Federman (Gray Tie), and Andrew Horowitz (Green Tie) are set to release GOOD & EVIL independently via Quack! So on this supposed "Snowpocalypse part deux" I received a nice little email from the LA based group Incan Abraham. This band like few others has been able to play music to a couple different genres, bringing the great Michigan band, Tally Hall to mind. Their song Hors D'oeuvres (for you non-french speakers unlike myself, that means "work of art" but in cullinary conversation means "appetizer") is a good one that brings a variety of tastes into the mix (like a spanikopita... woah, see that... its an hors d'oeuvre too!). Incan Abraham - Hors [...]

Tally Hall's Rob Cantor Estimates That His Band's Cult Following Counts 200 Billion Fans
Michigan's Tally Hall has been together for over a decade, yet has only released two proper, full-length efforts. That's because, like many bands, Tally Hall has been plagued by the major label ... Tally Hall Gets Playful with Flo Rida's "Club Can't Handle Me"
Let's face it - it's almost impossible not to throw up a fist when Flo Rida's "Club Can't Handle Me" starts blasting. Its catchy hook and infectious beat deserve a head bob at the very least. But if you're not quite old enough to get into a club and find out whether or not it really can handle you, maybe indie power-pop group Tally Hall's playful cover is a better fit. The Michigan quintet, known for their fittingly colorful ties and online variety show Tally Hall's Internet Show (T.H.I.S.), transform this dance hit into a youthful yet equally energetic track. [mp3] Tally Hall // You and Me
Tally Hall are one of those bands whose currency is light hearted quirkiness. Their members are identified by the colour of the tie they wear. They ran their own webseries in 2008. They've got the vibe of a lighter sounding Weezer - a carefree, simplistic, friendly sound which is poppy enough to keep you interested...

Album Review: Tally Hall – Good & Evil
It has taken nearly six years for quintet Tally Hall to release a sophomore follow-up to their whimsical debut, Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum. A band often noted for upbeat rock melodies as colorful as their trademark ties, they have kept their signature wardrobe staple intact, but it's clear that Tally Hall has matured as a group. Good & Evil is certainly whimsical and fun, but there are signs Tally Hall is growing up. With help from producer Tony Hoffer (Belle and Sebastian, Beck), Good & Evil is brimming in bright, accessible indie pop rock. Their [...]
