Nick Allbrook from Tame Impala has officially left the band as confirmed by a facebook statement yesterday. The bassist is being replaced by Cam Avery, from The Growl and Pond. Will this change result in a change to Tame Impala's musical style? Unlikely since frontman Kevin Parker seems to have everything in control, hopefully Cam can fit the bill and provide as awesome live performances as Allbrook has. Nick Allbrook In a statement on Tame Impala's Facebook page, they announced that keyboardist and bassist Nick Allbrook has left the band.  Nick is also the lead singer of Pond, but there is no comment on whether he has left Tame Impala to focus on Pond full time or not.  Allbrook will be replaced by Cam Avery.  Good luck to Nick, who I've seen as both a member of Pond and Tame Impala many times. Before there was indie music, there was underground music, which was essentially the same thing as what we now call indie, except, as the name implies, no one knew about it. In the '70s and '80s, there were reasons for why music was relegated to pop-up venues and warehouses and basements. Music of the underground could be abrasive or it could be druggy, but regardless of the particulars, it didn’t mix with the mainstream because it deliberately did not appeal to the traditional societal standards.
