In a world where the expression "mixtape" is commonly used for a bunch of mp3s put together in a zip file, !K7 records tapes series gets back to the old-school way. After The Rapture and The Big Pink , it's time for math-rock band Foals to release their own two-sided compilation on July 24th featuring tracks and remixes by Nicolas Jaar , Blood Orange , Dorian Concept , Bibio and many more. Find the electro-oriented tracklist below. SIDE A Nicolas Jaar - Variations [...]

3 warm-up weapons of choice from the latter half of 2011. Mam delivers thumping french-touched, sample-crazy house music, while Miguel Campbell smashes everything out of the way with the sexiest track of the summer. If you're feeling more relaxed and want to go with something with deeper feel to it, Tanner Ross' enchants the ears with hypnotizing woodwind melodies and a very very fat bass. It seems that Tanner Ross can do no wrong as of late. Check out his pure fire remix of Lonely C & Baby Prince's 'I Remember Those Days'

Baby Prince & Lonely C: I Remember Those Days (Tanner Ross Remix)
After the shamanistic beat session that was Verboten in NYC the other night for new years, pretty much all I can think about is deep house. So that's what you're about to get. Not all these tracks are necessarily thaaat new, but I think they're all straight up great and I suspect after a listen you'll feel the same way too. Allow me to introduce, Tanner Ross. An up and comer probably most famous

If, like me, you've gone home for Christmas, then chances are you're stuck out in the countryside somewhere trying to avoid Christmas music and awaiting relatives who you know will spend the next few days mercilessly taking the piss out of you. So if you know that pain, then surely you can forgive me producing yet another of these end-of-year lists. I've limited myself to only five though as I figure most people will skim mega-long lists. Over the last month there's been poll after poll, list after list; all essentially saying the same thing. But they're never [...]
From their very inception, the Canadian duo Art Department have known success. Individually, the two enjoyed a bit of it throughout the 90's and 00's as figures in the Toronto house and techno scenes. But it was not until Johnny White and Kenny Glasgow came together to form Art Department that the two experienced the type of success one can only dream about. Just a handful of months after
WASHINGTON, D.C.-- This Saturday, Danny Daze (Hot Creations) is coming to U Street Music Hall, and he's bringing that funky Miami sound that we love so much with him. I had the pleasure of witnessing such a cataclysmic event in Chicago just two weeks ago. Daze had Augustus and I dancing 'til the club closed, dropping jam after jam until we couldn't dance anymore. So bring your dancing shoes,

Tanner Ross does some great hot, funky, and deep house jams. I'm especially hyped on "4 u." The whole release is worth your dollar for sure.

This Halloween, Verboten descends upon the Big Easy for a long weekend of music, art and debauchery at The Voodoo Experience Presented by Stephen Rehage in New Orleans. Based on the overwhelming response to its dedicated electronic dance music area Le Plur, the festival continues the dance marathon with DeJa Voodoo is Verboten after parties from electronic artists who are appearing as part of the Voodoo line-up. Throughout Voodoo's Halloween weekend celebration (Friday, October 28, Saturday, October 29 and Sunday, October 30), some of world's top underground talent will perform at the fan favorite Le Plur area including Cassy, [...]

Soul Clap is spending their second quarter-life snow-bird retreat down here again this winter and that can only mean good things. They along with buddies Wolf & Lamb continuously consumed dance floors down here a few months ago and they're coming back to do it again. Secret teenage sources say they stayed in somewhere in Miami Shores last time hence the title of their new EP Shady Shores. Do any Miamian's recognize this disco ball?! That's right it's The Electric Pickle's! Which brings me to [...]
Tanner Ross' highly anticipated Bside EP drops this week on No.19 Music . The frequent Soul Clap collaborator has put together two seriously funky mid-tempo tracks with a that RnB tinge we've seen in his other productions. Deniz Kurtel contributes a darker take on "4 U" to round out the release. Unreleased, these tracks have been getting some nice play during the summer season. Good to see them finally see the light of day. Tanner Ross - Bside Ep by Tanner Ross

Ever since hearing Tanner Ross - B Side on that amazing Off-Sonar set from Art Department, I've been desperate to get hold of it. It's a beautiful and infectious work that you could quite easily have on repeat all day long. Mercifully, I spotted someone posted a link to a soundcloud of it on the WANARB fanpage which means that I actually will be spending the entire bank holiday weekend with it on repeat. No 19 Music still haven't announced a release date for the EP as yet but as soon as it is, this track, [...]

So this little beaut popped up in my Twitter timeline today and although I've got a sneaking suspicion I'm a wee bit late on this, I thought fuckit, I'll share it anyway. I went to see Polish duo Catz N Dogz last month at Select*Elect and they were brilliant. The whole night was bags of fun, from meeting them at their hotel room and getting chased down Shoreditch High Street by the hotel manager who was insisting that one of them, Voitek, could not just wander off with one of their dressing gowns (He wanted to DJ wearing it. To [...]

DEEP BASS HOUSE - Score! Lately my Soundcloud dashboard is awash with pitiful attempts at bootlegs and mindless drum and bass gash. Then in amongst the spam I've fish out this sublime serving of sub driven, deep house and it needs to be heard on a sound system the size of a oil rig. Interview with the man himself right here. ..

With the endless amount of my friends rambling about some amazing holiday they are on, of course I want to be overseas like them. Sure I might not spend my time looking at wack shit like cathedrals but it would be good nonetheless. Then records like this come out, and you realise that you are no longer happy living where you do. Soul Clap and Tanner Ross , is there really much else to say? They've absolutely killed this one, I'm thinking they're back in a studio of some sort judging by the hectic [...]

Here is a short list of things I like: Barcelona, birthdays and Canadian duo Art Department. Combining these three would be something quite super-special so that the fact I didn't is fairly gutting. Barcelona's annual Sónar Festival fell on my birthday this year and I so desperately wanted to go. Sadly I wasn't able to. What you're probably saying to yourself now is Oh well that's a bit pants, but probably not so bad 'cos they played Saturday Lovebox recently, riiiight? Well guess what. I didn't go to that either because I was off busy attending someone else's birthday across [...]
Tanner Ross, Tanner Black, T-Rex, the list goes on and on, but nicknames only begin to describe our love affair with our favorite person to ever be born in New Jersey. So it's hard to believe that the last time Mr. Ross graced the Adventures of Soul Clap was all the way back in December 2007, [...]
