Kiss My Ass (The Champ Is Here PT. 2) The Evil Genius (DJ Green Lantern) and Mr. "Top 5 Dead or Alive" reunite to release something that hip hop fans across the globe have patently waiting several years for; A healthy serving of raw, unapologetic lyrics ala Jadakiss ( The LOX , D-Block *). As the raspy voiced Yonkers, New York native and recent Def Jam signee prepares to release his highly anticipated third album, titled " The Last Kiss [...]

Do you have all these tapes lying around with great tracks on them that you can't salvage for your iPod? Well, then, this is the solution for you. This handy little gadget plays your tapes and puts them on a USB drive as MP3 files. And it's portable. Now, what do i do with my vinyl?
Sand Dunes - Tape It's dark out, but the streetlights are reflecting off the blanket of clouds, casting an orange glow over everything. A federal police SUV rolls past. Some college students holler at each other in the distance. It is snowing, but lightly. It's been warm recently, but I think the winter has finally returned in full force. No more rainy winter days await us. No more frozen slush coating the front steps in the morning, adding that first bit of excitement and daring to the morning, at least [...]
It's Valentine's Day again! So we decided to share some love with our friends with a mixtape. We all picked songs and Nate mixed it down. We'll have digital versions here for a little while in case you came too late to get a tape, or maybe you've moved on from antiquated technology! We still love the mixtape and we're hoping to make this a tradition, with a little help from our friends at I'm Drinkin' This. SIDE 1 The Monkees - Steppin' Stone The Pixies - La La [...]

Tape - Beams (MP3) I've been a bit busy helping out with my parent's charity over the last few weeks, so BFF has been put on the back burner whilst we were organising and running an event that raised £71,000! A nice side effect of the party was that the ever-awesome (and sorely missed "oop north") Danny Webb came up to play a few records. And whilst we were sat at home supping red wine till 3am, he put me onto Tape, a instrumental trio who released Luminarium this time last year. [...]

It's been a bit exciting around here since the holidays, as you might have guessed from the relative lack of posts about the kids. We started the new year by being blindsided by the level of resistance to resuming our normal work/daycare schedule, struggled through the festivities of Medical Appointment Week, and ultimately switched the kids from all-day day care to a combination of a nanny and the local preschool/pre-K programs. All of the above are worthy of their own post, but you probably won't get that. They would be at least [...]

The Swedish prodigy Tom Liljegren a.k.a. Taped is back with a new track to celebrate the 2009. My main man in Lund - Martin "the Duke" Grewin contributes with some hypnotic vocals in Swedish. Great stuff. Richard Sjöberg remix is my favorite. Taped - Vatten (Richard Sjoberg remix) [Electro] Go get the entire EP here on Beatport Watch out for the forthcoming tracks landing in your promo [...]

Ophibre - A Harem Of Moths I have a theory. I think the ratio of good to bad tapes is much higher than any other media. I don't really know why, maybe it's because people who put out tapes mean business. They don't fuck around and they know what they're doing. Tapes are special and you can't just put anything on tape (see my Bulbs review for more on that). So due to such a high ratio [...]

Everybody's seen those fancypants record players that have the USB cords, wherein you can back up your favorite LPs into inferior-sounding digital files for maximum convenience*. But what of those cassettes that you've been stashing in some shoeboxes in that back closet, right behind the Rubbermaid tub of Christmas ornaments that never even makes it out for Christmas because you stopped buying trees a few years ago when you and your wife separated because, I mean, what's the point of even trying anymore? What about those guys? The cassettes, I mean. [...]

The use of instruments played in this trakk are used very very well Not to much Fidget But Not to Much Elektro Humm.... Taped - The Question (Albin Meyers Remix) (mp3) - LA VICE

Cannibal Frequencies - Untitled 2 This was supposed to be one of those "mysterious" tapes. The kind of thing that, for whatever reason, has an obviously fake story about it's origins. Label Gods Of Tundra said, "I found this master buried underneath the dirt in the woods next to my building. It was covered in mud and mostly rotted. Turns out Mike Shiflet recorded this, dug a hole and threw it in there 2 years ago. Now [...]

Millipede - Kotake Brian Grainger - Skullkid Hylian... isn't that the race of people in The Legend Of Zelda? Wasn't Link Hylian? You're goddamn right he was! Millipede is that amazing noise dude who did the album Hyrule I wrote about a few months ago. Well since then, he's [...]
We're about a week deep into the new year and this disc is and will continue to be the most checked, revered and discussed album. Whether it'll matter in 2010 is another issue all together. The dude that is Wavves seems to be consistent amidst his punkier compositions. The slow numbers, "Jetplane (Staying on a)" perhaps, finds the limited vocal and melodic palette accentuated by the space left in the track. Wavves is not a crooner and that's why "No Hope Kids" ends up working out a bit better. But even here, the frailty [...]

5. Mixtape Volume 3 by The Hood Internet The Hood Internet's Mixtape Volume 3 is, in my opinion, the best mixtape released by the Chicago-based mash-up duo. Sometimes described as Girl Talk on Adderall, The Hood Internet takes indie rock hits and mashes them up to hip-hop beats. Mixtape Volume 3 is no exception. A few of the our favorite tracks include Crime Mob vs The Dodos - "Stilettos In The Park", Pimp C (feat. Lil Keke) vs The New Pornographers - "Knocking Fablez Down" and Lil Wayne (feat. [...]
Tape and Paavoharju made Raven Sings the Blues year-end best-of list: http://ravensingstheblues.blog spot.com/2008/12/well-here-it- is-end-of-2008.html Also note Eddy Current Suppression Ring at #1; like I said in my comments , that's definitely a top 10 album.
