Our next Valentine’s day gift comes courtesy of San Jose rapper, Antwon . The artist has made quite the name for himself ever since he time-travelled from the mid 1990s and started releasing his recollective jams. His 2012 summer hit ‘Living Every Dream’ made an instant impression and we’ve been thoroughly and continuously intrigued by the man and more importantly his work. In Dark Denim is his brand new mixtape and it has just been released via Greedhead. You can preview the entire project and download it [...]

It's here! It's really great, too. 13 tracks to darken your v-day, Wicca Phase and Fantasy Camp came through with the heat from the abyss. I couldn't imagine a better playlist for Valentine's Day, seriously. Features include Pretty Witch, Briana Collins of Tiger Jaw, and Dreamkiller. I hit the artists up with a few q's early this evening, about to make something of that...brb. mix for gold sweatshirt , ice breaker single, trap god intro remix bite my ear

Found this over at GvsB , ol' Soma had it up on his computer, forgot I fav'd the shit a day ago or something. The laundry mat sucks, I'm gonna go ahead and say always, but this San Fran producer's electronic jams definitely do not. A bunch of pop samples that sound like they're from the 902s keep this tape grooving in an old dog new tricks kinda way. Stream/download below. Download - Giraffage - Needs [.zip]

Homosexual or not, New York MC Cakes Da Killa is one of the most raunchy, hilarious, and attention-demanding MCs you'll hear this year. WATCH THE REVIEW

"Bread Pitt is in a coma and he refuses any kind of cure". This was the last message we received 4 years ago from the murgian band. Thanks to a L-dopa forced therapy our guys awakened for a while, so, without any scruples, strong on their pharmaceuthical dizziness, we raided their archives. The mechanical psychedelia by Altamuran men is now avaiable on tapes released by Hysm?, whose sales will guarantee us a more than quiet old age. Netlabel: [...]
I always used to say to my sister, "You have to find something you're passionate about; until then, you'll always be unhappy." I review music in order to have passion myself, and my reward? Fucking cassette tapes, fucking shoved inside ... Continue reading
The up-and-coming new york hip hop Underachievers have dropped their first tape after a few hyped singles such as "Gold Soul Theory," which is a track that was so impressive it caused Brainfeeder's Flying Lotus to sign these guys right away. Look for a lot of East Coast hip hop nostalgia on this tape, matched with some modern eccentricities and great production.
Now that the drama from the Lil B and Joey Bada$$ has settled, let's take a look at the Lil B mixtape that the "I'm The Bada$$" track came from, Pink Flame . It's the Based God's first mixtape of the year, and features a cover that implies it could be one of his most absurd to date. So far, there are a few snoozers like "Ban the Weapons," but B is at his best with bizarre bangers like "Flex 363 and the Super Mario Bros. -sampling "1000 Bitches."
Victor Ferriera aka Sun Glitters produces some of the most dreamlike electronic echoes I've ever heard. I'm a big fan...

Accidental discovery leads UK musician to create a music time capsule compilation. Independent musician Simon Holland (who performs as Carrillion) stumbled over some old music recordings he'd made in the 80s. Tracks he made long ago, using synthesizers and drum machines. After listening to them for the first time in decades, he was surprised how much he liked them and wondered if other people had similar gems hiding in their attics, basements and garages. Scouring the web he found a few fellow artists, posting their old cassette tunes on sites like Soundcloud and Bandcamp, [...]
